WRITS

Witches Raised in the South is a PaganSpace group for those of us Witches who were raised in the Deep South, Mid-South or the Southeasern United States. You know as well as I do that we face some very unique issues living and practicing the craft in the Buckle of the Bible Belt. Magick is still looked upon with great trepidation in this part of the country/world. Being pagan in God's country can give a whole new meaning to *stranger in a strange land.* Join us to share your experiences, rant about the muggles and find ways to foster tolerance where you live.

This groups is not limited to only witches raised in the South but also those who wonder what it's like to be one. Come here to learn more about the way we do things around these parts. I am certain that much of what we experience is not geographically limited.

Comment by Wendi Beck on August 16, 2008 at 3:28pm: While my family would limit the title of my path to witch or "evil" I have found that there are more of us here in the South than the Bible belt thinks and am greatful to the spirits and Gods and Goddesses that I have found like minds close by.

Comment by Guinneth on June 23, 2008 at 7:47pm: I wasn't born in the south, but my mother was from NC and I've lived in GA for over half my life. I didn't find Wicca until I moved to Ga. I expected to be ridiculed for my beliefs, hoever: it was the folks in IN that have given me the hardest time.
