My Shrine at home
To my mind, Sacred Space is anywhere you open yourself to the Divine, and invite Spirit to join you. A Sacred Space is whatever and wherever you make it. Keeping a Shrine is a good way to have a link and channel open to Divinity. It can be dedicated to one Goddess, several Gods and Goddesses or simply to Spirit. A Shrine becomes the focal point for Deity and if you can afford a statue, it adds a lot. The ancients believed that the essence of Deity resides in the statue – as some Catholics believe the essence of a saint resides in their statues. At first this notion might seem far-fetched, but trust me on this one. This Magickal concept really works, and you can get a real connection to a Deity in this manner.
My Shrine, as you can see, has a variety if statues and objects that connect me to the Divine. I hope that you find a Sacred Space of yours too!

I have a big mantle over my fire place and I am relatively new to *officially* practicing this path - I was looking for some ideas of where to put a shrine in my house hold.
