"This is lovely, it gives me a better sense of optimism that there is indeed someone out there that I can one day call my soul mate. I'm 24 and am still awaiting the day when he'll enter my life, so many folks think the idea of true love is…"
The name my mother gave me is Allana, you say it 'uh-lay-nuh' in my case. I come from western New York, right on the coast of Lake Ontario. I have decided to join this site in attempts to meet some new, and perhaps like-minded folks. I am a friendly person I suppose, manners are important to me... I try best to be a tolerant, rational person at all times. That's not to say I haven't got my own opinions and beliefs, just that I'm not going to treat folks any differently based only upon theirs' and I would hope for the same from others.
Lord of the Rings trilogy, Beowulf, Grendel, Works of HP Lovecraft, Works of Henry David Thoreau, The Kalevala, Works of Jules Vern, I also read a hefty amount of non-fiction based on various fields of interest such as Ornithology, Dendrology, Horticulture, Marine Biology, Zoology, Psychology and Philosophy.
Beliefs / Practices
Spiritual but not Religious
I am very interested in beliefs stemming from paganism and heathenism, however I do not believe in deities. I am a naturalist at heart.
I love to create things whether it be foods and cakes or arts and crafts. I love to crochet and frequently sew my own garments. I have several folk instruments that I enjoy playing, the irish whistle being the one I consider myself best at. I go to a lot of local metal shows, music is a very large part of my life... I listen to a variety of atmospheric, heavy metal of all sorts, as well as traditional folk music from many different countries.
Thanks, I like your name as well ;) Actually mine isn't Irish, but French, lol. My roots are cajun/creole/french. Thanks for the add! I look forward to knowing more about you. Here is a painting from one of my favorite artists, Emily Balivet, titled Awakening. Many blessings!
Well Met Allana. Where is Brockport exactly? I am in the Hudson Valley region, about 90 miles north of NYC. The Oak is one of my teachers as well. I was just visiting this weekend with an ancient white oak I call the Grandfather Tree, acting on some guidance. We will be having a event at the center for symbolic studies in Tilson ny on July 28th. The call it Midsummer. Check out our calender of events at http://symbolicstudies.org.
