Angst Bombs?

Angst is the least of it, in my meager opinion. Just plain vindictiveness. Combined with a nasty attitude, huge egos and the pleasure in seeing another hurt. I can't help but notice there are some ...

Is there such a thing as pagan morality?

Half the time I feel like a total moron because I seem to know absolutely nothing. I struggle to find the right words to express my questions and they all come out wrong. It appears I come across a...

Is there such a thing as pagan morality?

Very interesting. I may have not phrased things the best way, but I'm doing the best I can. I suppose I'm just hopelessly curious; I just want to know about things. So, you do what you please becau...

Piercings and such... I am NOT a prude and look for answers!!

please tell me this was photo-sopped or something. Kinda funny, yet at the same time rather grotesque. That ain't healthy. This is all about a desperate need for attention, not fashion. I think it'...

I've been wondering about this issue and I'd like to hear from all sides about it. I have heard some say that the phrase 'an it harm none, do as you will' is for fluffy-bunny wimps and cowards. That basically with paganism, you can do whatever you...

I am by far, not done with this issue. For some people, change is like the arrival of Armageddon (or Ragnarok, if that suits you). They think that someone who embraces rights for ALL people, not just a select few is an abomination. They love the w...

Being rather new to this environment, I naievely posted on some of the discussions and got a very rude awakening. There are some who are on here simply to tear others down because it empowers them. They like bragging about how they don't give a cr...

Astrological Sign

About Me:
Lonely, reluctantly solitary witch in search of mentors and friends. I don't know anyone where I live and it makes trying to have a social life a bit difficult. I live outside of Schenectady, NY, if that helps. Rotterdam Junction is basically just outside Scotia. It would be nice to get to know some local folks.
I'm trying to overcome my shyness and hope this is an opportunity to meet new people. I'm very interested in finding people where I live.
In pagan-centered settings, I prefer going by my craft name, Aritimi. It just helps me separate my regular mundane self from my magickal one.
Favorite Books
Books by Andre Norton, Patricia Kennealy-Morrison's Keltiad series, Charles deLint's Moonheart, mysteries, alternate histories
Beliefs / Practices
Witch, Wiccan, Mystic
Other Beliefs/Practices
I am rather rusty with Tarot, but try to do it when I need it. At the moment, I am in a state of spiritual reconsideration, trying to figure out where I am headed. I've an interest in crystal/energy work, so it would be nice to meet some others who do the same.
Hobbies
Making jewelry, drawing and painting, reading about anything that gets my interest, collecting semiprecious stones, being around animals (because sometimes they're nicer than humans), singing, paranormal phenomena
Heroes
Eleanor Roosevelt, my little sister
Likes
Chocolate, personal freedom, being alive, meeting people, costumes, Orlando Bloom, pirates, cats, jewelry (especially silver), fantasy, stargazing, Renaissance Faires, tastefully done tattoos, Steampunk, kind people, going out to various events with others (concerts, the mall, road trips), mutual respect
Dislikes
Any kind of illegal drug use (that includes marijuana), smoking, bigots of any stripe, Hummers, extremists of ANY religion, spiders, being taken advantage of by others, having someone cheat on me, lying, stealing, doing mean things behind my back while saying they're my friend, not being taken seriously, hypocrites, grotesque body piercing/modification
How did you find PaganSpace?
was told of it by acquaintances and from seeing it online in various pagan sites.

Respect is for the birds?--Part 2

I need to vent because otherwise I am going to be sick to my stomach with all this anger I have inside me. I know what I say won't change things, but I hope at least it will make more people aware.
This hearkens back to a theme in my original post 'Respect is for the birds?'. It's about the attitudes that seem to be most prevalent here. Just plain meanness. You don't like what someone said? You just go out and start flaming them here, putting every bit of nastiness you can muster into your posts… Continue

What am I?

I feel like I have to start from scratch with what I thought were my beliefs. Thanks to having some rather intense discussions on Facebook over pagan traditions, Wicca, witchraft and everything in between, I no longer know what I am or what I've been doing for the past 12 years.
I never had a teacher or was trained in a coven. I was in the ADF for a bit, but it just wasn't my thing. I had only joined it because it was PAGAN and I was still learning. I knew so little back then. Worked with an ope… Continue

Paranoids 'R' Us--Part 2

I am by far, not done with this issue. For some people, change is like the arrival of Armageddon (or Ragnarok, if that suits you). They think that someone who embraces rights for ALL people, not just a select few is an abomination. They love the way things are; people getting screwed over by banks, big business running rampant and racking up billions in bonuses, insurance companies who care more about profit than actually helping people. Then someone comes along and says what they're doing isn't… Continue

Paranoids 'R' Us

Right now, I've got the song 'Flagpole Sitta' by Harvey Danger running through my head.
I'm going to go on a bit of a political bent this time, and I am sure some will take umbrage with my views. Fine. I'm not forcing ANYONE to agree with me. This is solely my feelings on a particular subject.
One thing I've noticed lately, since the presidential elections, is the amount of paranoia and fear-mongering going on in this country. And no, it's not just relegated to the crazy Christian wingnuts; I ha… Continue
