This group is an "outpost" of the Official website of The Troth. We in the Troth practice the Germanic/Norse religion of Heathenry, commonly referred to as Asatru.
Welcome, this is a place to discuss all aspects of Norse, Germanic, Slavic or other northern faiths and practices, including Seid, Shamanism, or any other practice.See More
I'm a homemaker and mother to two wonderful boys, Aiden (5) and Kieran (5 mos). Our family attends a local Pagan church, and are deeply committed to our faith and community. We homeschool, farm, and try to live our lives in balance with the forest we call our home. This time of year we like to take time to remember our blessings, and reflect on the growth we've experienced since last harvest.
Favorite Books
Discworld series by Terry Pratchett is my favorite fiction; I read a lot of religion and anthropology books, and right now I'm slowly collecting a horde of homemaking/crafts books all over the house :)
Beliefs / Practices
Pagan, Witch, Heathen
Other Beliefs/Practices
We are very conscious of our impact on our environment, but take a more traditional approach to environmentalism - we grow some of our food, heat our home with wood from our forest, and try to reuse/recycle our consumer goods. Eventually we hope to raise animals for eggs and meat as well.
Hobbies
I enjoy sewing, particularly needlepoint. I got a sewing machine for Mother's Day, and am hoping to learn how to make some clothes with it. I spend most of my spare time reading or playing games. When it's warm, I like to walk outside, especially in the fall.
Heroes
I find heroes in the history and mythology that I read, and believe that modern culture deprives us of the values our ancestors held. I suppose in modernity I look up to those who are genuine and serve others without also seeking a spotlight. People who show strong moral character are the kinds of heroes I want my children to have.
How did you find PaganSpace?
My fiance has a Facebook page that we play games on together, and I saw several people link to this website, so I thought I would check it out!
