20+ yrs. in the Craft, trained Gardnerian; eclectic, with strong naturalist and Thelemic tendencies, loves drum circles, sex, books, homeopathy, and sustainable permaculture. Currently embarking on a new stage in my studies and personal evolution, but should that not always be the case?
I am a wife, mother, grandmother, animal-lover, Witch, silly person, space geek, aspiring author and hermit, civilly disobedient, loves to garden and work with my hands, recovered from near-blindness in '07.
“ 'We are all made of star stuff and kitten breath,' Matka Lasu had said. And in a moment of blazing lucidity I discovered a basic truth. Every living thing is born of earth and sky. We are all the same, as family members are the same. Waiting on the side of the snow covered hill, I felt as if my blood were the sky, as if the stars coursed through my veins, as if I had merged with all the hibernating things, and were sleeping their winter dreams. Their breath was my breath, their fears my fears, their appetites, their divine lust for life, my own. A strange tingling flickered between my legs, a rapture of desire that I didn’t understand." ~ Excerpt from Forest Song: Finding Home by Vila SpiderHawk, p. 181
I am a deeply introspective Pisces soul on it's eternal journey like all others, a bonerfied tree-huggin' Nature-lovin' small furry creature-protectin' skincolorblind hippie goth country Pagan superfreak in full-on explorative self-discovery mode. I was born and raised in Californica but instilled by my free-thinking Baptist single mother (Goddess rest her soul) with Southern gentility, manners, and down home love of good food, good company, and simplicity in life. I have lived as a gypsy, wandering hither and yon, born and raised in CA, thence to TX, NH/MA (for ten years), with brief and necessary side trips in NY and OH, but have found my destiny, the love of my life and a home worth keeping here in the South. I am a city kid in recovery, and although I may go to cities to shop and visit and attend events, I will never willingly live in one again. I may travel and go visiting places and people but I will always come home to the Carolinas, because I feel safe here.
I like to think that I'm an intellectual student who cares about and loves the things of the world, thus I tend to gravitate to the same tendencies in others; the freedom to be and personal histories aside, honesty, spirit, a sense of humor, a conscience, and brains are a MUST!
I have a special love of cats (wild and domestic) and all things Norse or Egyptian.
Welcome to 2012 Tharsis. I look forward to sharing this journey with you. There is a lot of information out there for me to bring to the group and I also look forward to your input. This is the Shift Of The Ages that has been spoken of for centuries and we are the lucky ones who decided to be here for it.
