Every beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
A friend is someone who will bail you out of jail. A best friend is the one sitting in the cell next to you going "That was fucking awesome!"
Do you believe in love like I believe in pain?
I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming & yelling like the passengers in his car.
If you love them, let them go. If they come back, set them on fire.
You have to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you got and remember what you had. Always forgive but never forget, learn from your mistakes but never regret. People change, things go wrong, just remember Life Goes On.
I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure.
I didn't attend the funeral but I sent a letter saying I approved of it.
See no evil, hear no evil, date no evil.
Stress is when you wake up screaming and realize you haven't fallen asleep yet.
School prepares you for the real world...which also sucks.
Don't fight ugly people, they have nothing to lose.
Chuck Norris can strangle you with a cordless phone.
Now we know why some animals eat their own children.
You should do some soul-searching. You might just find one.
If only walls could speak. What tragedies would they tell?
Suicide is a way of telling God "You can't fire me, I quit!"
People are like slinkies. They are pretty much useless, but you can't help but laugh when you see one fall down the stairs.

There are some sites that are Rainbow message boards, newsletters and the like, but when searching, remember two things work against being able to put much up on the web. First off, many Rainbows have no problem with naturally occurring alterants being used for spiritual questing. The fact that our government has criminalized these plants makes them "outlaws", if they follow that route to enlightenment. It can be hard to get solid info. about locating some of these folk. Second, since it is the largest non-organization in the world, anything you read on the web is just the stuff that an individual has come up with that resonates with them. I'm sure you can find photos from some of the gatherings, and more info though. I'll play around a bit and see if there are sites that I could steer you to.
There are often monthly, or weekly pot-lucks, drum circles or other events in towns for people who can't wait to get back on the "Rainbow Road". I also have friends that travel this same way, but the events are Pow-wows. They call it the "Red Road".

I'm sorry if my response about the Rainbow family was a bit short and incomplete. How do you describe a tribal culture? There are people among the tribe who have not gone back to Babylon (What they call "civilization") for years. It can be hard trying to mediate between the tribe and the US Forest Service. The government agents don't understand consensus decision making. They prefer a top down organizational structure, so we undo them. They are also very much afraid that when thousands of souls descend on an area. They don't understand that the Family polices itself. Everyone is deemed Shanti-sena, (Peace Warrior is the closest translation) I have heard tell of a gathering in Vermont at which 15,000 folks showed up making it the largest city in the state. Many in the Rainbow have been doing this for years and show the new folks how to make kitchens, deal with childcare, health issues, ritual and lifestyle choices that harmonize with Mother Nature.
I heard that one of the fifteen thousand who was a child molester. People reached consensus that he should not ever be alone with any woman or child, ever. some men made it a point to keep that guy within arm's reach for the rest of the event. Childcare, food and assistance for all is provided free of charge. Gifts of cash (called green energy by the family) are only to be placed in the "Magic Hat". Everyone shares what they have so that no one goes without.
Even clean up and removal of waste occurs after the events. trails are reseeded, campfire ring and kitchens are disappeared. It is quite wonderful. I have never been to a national gathering, but I have attended and helped to plan, carry out and disappear several regional gatherings. These were attended by between several hundred and several thousand folks, all groovin' on the energy, just BE-ing together, at ritual, during drumming, doing mundane things and during meals, it's awesome!

Their annual gathering around the fourth of july frequently exceeds ten thousand people. This year it sounds like it is going to be held in the Northeast.
Bless you sister! Tony
