Farmers wine

Posted on December 1, 2012 at 2:30pm 0 Comments

My wife and I enjoy farmer's markets. I prefer being a vendor although I have; upon occasions, also found satisfaction in being the purchaser. Today was one of those moments when the powers that are aligned and I found a most rare treasure amongst the jams and jellies, scones and muffins, tooled leather, and barn wood planters.

I found a bottle of farmer's wine. I had walked by the table without so much as a second glance - I'm not supposed to be taking the drink because of some…

Cooking: An outside oven design because I want you to have a hot meal.

Posted on October 28, 2012 at 8:40am 3 Comments

Ovens are great. They bake the bread, roast the meat, simmer the veggies, all round a useful and handy kitchen tool.

What would you do if your oven doesn't work and you can not replace it? What if the powers out or your gas supply cut off? What if you find yourself out of doors for a period of time? Some thing to think about for every one.

With a few simply acquired things you can make your own oven, and it works. Here's what you need:

1.) A cardboard box. ( The one's…

I'm starting a series of blogs about how I've gotten along in the world. I'm doing it because I think there's a need in the various Pagan communities and amongst the solitary practitioners to transfer easily digested practical knowledge. I'm old enough now to see that what I've accumulated in simple living skills should be posted for anyone who has the need of this knowledge to access it and do what they will with it; even modify, add to it, ignore it, or argue points endlessly with gleeful…

Camping equipment

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 7:28am 2 Comments

Not long gone by I've had cause to tidy up a storage room, and with in that effort I happened upon some of the misplaced gear I've used for camping. Our outdoor equipment also doubles in function for emergencies.

Where I live power failures are not uncommon in the winter, in fact some of the life long residents have told me they've experienced interruptions that have lasted days, even weeks. The first winter living here we lost the power half a dozen times, once for 16 hours. We made…

Cleaning up.

Posted on September 12, 2012 at 5:52pm 3 Comments

I had reason to enter a room I've neglected over the past years. The old pantry off the kitchen. It kind of turned into the catch all place. Any and all that had no other home was relegated to wait for that fateful day when I gave up hoarding and sorted out the swag.

That day has arrived. What treasures! What marvels! What a mess!

First thing, empty the room. As I progress I attempt to organize a little, the pile system. Tools here, hobbies there, Ebay, and various other piles.…

How's it going Ritalin-Bunny, managing to stay warm?

Pretty cold here, snows but so far it's not sticking, though black ice seems prevalent.

Have a blessed and wonderful New Year :o)

Hi Bunny Face.. that's a big fat lie.. I've been through St. Louis and you can't live in a yurt there.. the natives don't speak French they speak something that resembles English.. and your yurt would be cut to shreads immediately.   you are so bad to tell these tall tales.. but lucky for me I like bad bunnies... :)  Miss talking to you my friend..
