To me that implied that I did not believe in the souls of animals. I do. I know that Hockmah, and Sophia, my beloved fir-kids had souls. their souls greatly enriched my lives. My only difference with most neo-pagans is that I do not believe that there is an afterlife. Once they have realized that they were dead, they went home to become part of the All / the Mother / Nirvana, and became a part of a whole, not as separate soul-bits, but as energy returning home. As separate beings, I believe that they were done. They had done what they had been born to do, and done it well. They are not waiting for me in a Summerland or the like. They are now gone as individuals. That is what my memorial circle to them was about.

For more than an hour this afternoon I searched the web for Pagan Pet death rituals. There are a lot out there, under pet and animal companion and familiar.
