Ok... Hermetism and Alchemy are a given as going together, as they have gone together pretty well since the days of ancient Alexandria. The "Irish Heathen" is a single thought, and does not mean Heathen in the Germanic sense but in the literal sense of "dweller upon the heaths", as my own prechristian Irish ancestry traces back to those who lived upon the heathlands. However, I do not really follow the prechristian Irish religion, though I do study it extensively, and have formed an intimate relationship with a single one of the ancient Irish spirits, Morrigan. I study these things because they are a part of my ancestry, which brings us to Vodou, which is an afro-caribbean tradition but which heavily emphasizes the honoring of one's own ancestors, which is a core component of Vodou shared alike by those of recent African or Afro-Caribbean descent as well as those of us who are not of recent african or afro-caribbean descent. As to how Alchemy reconciles with Vodou, Alchemy has never really been a proper tradition in its own right, rather it has always attached itself to the prevailing traditions, because Alchemy is when you boil it right down to its essence nothing but the science of the sacred, and a very comprehensive science at that, with which virtually any tradition worthy of the name may better be understood, IMHO. Hope that clears things up.
