Temple of Lylyth News
The Temple of Lylyth administration has come to the decision that a coven in Portage, Wisconsin is too difficult to maintain both administratively and financially. For that reason the Temple of Lylyth is closing its doors effective June 1st 2009. After nearly 10 years we felt the time was right to transition from a central organization to a loosely associated group of Dark Pagans. As such there are some things to be dealt with:
* There will no longer be "members" of the Temple of Lylyth
* Coven property (the few books it owns mostly) will either be sold to repay debt, or donated to another organization
* We can no longer ordain anyone - we aren't a church anymore
* Current Clergy are still clergy as far as we are concerned, but we aren't sure about the Government ramifications
* The administration will remain as involved in the greater community as we have been until now
* This website will stay up as a guide for Lylythians
Lylythianism's Beliefs
1. There are neither gods nor devils, save that which exist in the mind of the human that created them.
2. The only path to happiness is in the worship of the self, which has five aspects: Intelligence, Individuality, Indulgence, Intuition, and Integrity.
3. Express your emotions as they are felt, and treat people according to what they deserve.

Samhain is a time when the bridge that separates the world of the living and the world of the dead becomes firmer, allowing spirits and ghosts and ghouls to cross over. These spirits or departed souls are honored and asked to grant luck and prosperity. Regardless what you call it today it is a festival dedicated to the dead
As the dead can enter this world the barrier to future 'worlds' is weakest at this time. All around the island of All Hallows Eve the barriers fall. This day was often selected for a scrying or glimpse of the future.
As the souls of the dead walk the land so do the evil spirits, people wear masks and light bonfires to scare them away.
In Ireland people went door-to-door collecting food and sticks or turf for a feast and bonfire. Those who gave got good luck; those who did not got bad luck.
I'm An Amiable Dragon
By: Shel Silverstein
I'm an amiable dragon,
And I have no wish to scare,
Do not tremble at my presence,
Do ignore my lethal stare,
Do not fret about the fire
I unleash it into the air,
You are free to pass unchallenged -
But only if you dare!

Elfin Hearts
by Brightshade
Does your heart feel the heat
Of a wildling satyr's beat
Does the smell of clover sweet
send your soul into a swoon
Does your heart steal fickle glances
At riotous elfin dances
And blush at fae romances
Performed by light of moon
Does your heart weep at the loss
Of pixie castles made of moss
And spritely kings with eyes of frost
That now hides behind the veils
Does your heart grieve dark and grim
At humanity's foul sin
And the aethyr pale and thin
Where it once was rich and hale
Does your heart smile on silver places
Filled with the cheer of elfin faces
And melt in fae embraces
Touched with glamour's art
Does your heart dance free and wild
In this world mundane and mild
With the spirit of the Chylde
Well then it dances with my heart
Have an awesome Week.....Sending hugs from my little corner of the magickal forest
Through the house give gathering light,
By the dead and drowsy fire:
Every elf and fairy sprite
Hop as light as bird from brier;
And this ditty, after me,
Sing, and dance it trippingly.

That dark wisdom and bright hope will heal.

The May-pole is up,
Now give me the cup;
I'll drink to the garlands around it;
But first unto those
Whose hands did compose
The glory of flowers that crown'd it.
