Possible Discovery of First Ever Aztec Ruler Tomb

Posted on December 1, 2015 at 7:45pm 2 Comments

INAH has discovered a tunnel passageway that leads to two sealed chambers in Mexico City at the Aztec Templo Mayor. The tunnel passageway is sealed with a three ton rock. In this same area they found the bones of eagles and the skulls of two infants in an offering box. It appears the infants were decapitated. INAH believes the two sealed chambers may be the tombs of Aztec rulers, if this is true than it would be the first time an Aztec ruler tomb has been…

New-Old House

Posted on November 30, 2015 at 6:45pm 8 Comments

I got the keys to an old house today. It is a cool old house. Its address is 13 on the street, I like that address. I bought the house from a family that has owned it for generations. The latest generation to move out was a family with three children. They were living in filth. The house is full of trash, dirt, and rocks. The house is cool and dark inside, very comfortable. There are actually three separate living quarters, main house and two apartments. There is a large terrace on the roof.…

Aztec God of Drunkenness

Posted on November 22, 2015 at 5:45pm 0 Comments

Archeologists have made some surprising discoveries at the site Zultépec-Tecoaque in Tlazcala, Mexico. A full-size throne built of tezontle, a volcanic rock, and a “spectacular” cylindrical carved stone that displays the glyph, or pictograph, of the Aztec god Ometochtli, or “Two Rabbit.” Ometochtli was the Aztec pulque god and one of the 400 rabbit gods. This area of Mexico was famous for producing pulque in Ancient Mexico.

Also found was a cistern containing the skeletal…

Inca Child Mummy

The DNA of a frozen seven year old Inca boy mummy has been sequenced by scientist. He was a sacrificial victim 500 years ago in an Inca ceremony where unblemished children were drugged and left to freeze in the high mountains.

Love looking at your pictures ! I've been to Mexico many times and find it to be an endlessly fascinating country. Hope to make it to your part of the country; have been to Tabasco, Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo - there is so much to see and experience in each state and the people are the friendliest I've ever met in my travels.

Thanks for the comment on my page! Sounds like a good book to read.

I used to work at a hospital, and patients that were on comfort care measures because their death was imminent could have specially trained volunteers called "Anam Cara" to sit with them during their last days or hours. Sometimes they would just sit and provide their presence as the patient prepared to cross over, other times they held their hands, brushed their hair, read inspirational material to them, etc. That practice is what lead me to look into the concept of anam cara further. One day I hope to be such a volunteer.
