'The Little White Horse' by Elizabeth Goudge. LoTR. Anne of Green Gables. Anything by Patricia Briggs and Kim Harrison (love vampire fic!) There are so many I just can't list them all - I'm a bookworm.

Smoking (yuck), psychic vampires with bad energy. Caravans lumbering along on single lane A roads (it's an English thing), curry sauce. Last but not least, people who chew gum with their mouth open.
