I am filled with a desire to learn as much as I can. I find myself seeking opportunities to remake myself. I hope that this can be one such chance. I find that I am still on a journey to realizing all my possibilities. While that may sound a little odd, it just means that I am trying to stay open to new experiences. I enjoy many things and have a large range of interests. I love animals and hope to someday have a small herd of animal friends I can care for, although I currently just have a basset hound mix. He's so cute! I am very interested in preserving the environment, helping with charities, programs for children and elderly, and helping out those who have less than me. I love to garden, read, and tinker on various craft projects to keep me busy. I like camping, hiking, and regular exercise to keep my body healthy. Above all, I am trying to realize my greatest aspirations a little at a time! Lately most of my activities have been on hold while I recover from some medical mystery. I have been sick off and on for twenty years, and continue to test my doctor's limits. My mother always said that these kind of challenges build character, so I figure I must be plenty unique by now.
There are so many books I have loved and learned from. One book that I think changed the direction of my life is 2150 AD by Thea Alexander. I discovered an alternate possibility for my spiritual growth outside the restrictive roman catholic one my parents introduced me to. I have tried to model myself and my life after the open and loving society portrayed in this book. Whenever my choices have become hard I try to come back to it to recenter myself.

Other Beliefs/Practices
While I was raised Catholic, I am in the process of reassessing my beliefs. I am very spiritual and believe very strongly that we must each choose our own path to the source of life. I am learning everything I can about different religions. Little by little I blend these ideas into my underlying spiritual "compass."
Hobbies
I love needlepoint and most kinds of arts and crafts. I love being creative! I love herb growing and gathering, as well as growing plants of all kinds, both indoors and outdoors. I love to spend lots of time reading and learning. Currently I am taking online classes in environmental management; I am hoping to turn a passionate "hobby" into a new career direction. I am also doing my own studies on the side in many areas, including meditation, wicca, and domestic "do-it yourself" stuff.
Heroes
My grandfather. He was the hardest worker I have ever know. He also always had a smile to share or a song to sing. He taught me that it is not what you possess that makes you find joy. Joy is found in what you DO; how you live the small unimportant moments.
Likes
My children, my husband, experiencing music, sharing love, supporting the environment, tending to animals, caring for nature, planting trees, fostering peace, traveling to new places, and broadening my horizons.
Dislikes
I dislike close-minded people. It bothers me that people purposely choose to shut themselves off from life's possibilities. I dislike anyone who would choose to hurt another. I think our greatest opportunities arise during moments of service to others.
