MY REPLY TO WINTER
WE CAN LOOK AT LIFE IN TWO WAYS IN A LIGHTER MOOD OR A DARKER MOOD. WHAT WINTER DESCRIBES PART OF YOUR SOUL? ONE OR THE OTHER OR BOTH?
WINETRS LIGHT
IN THE COLDNESS OF A WINTERS DAY I FEEL MY SOUL VIBRATE TO THE ICE CRYSTALS UPON THE TREES OF GREEEN PINES I DELIGHT IN THE SUNS RELFECTIONS LIKE THOUSAND OF DIMONDS TO CELIBRATE LIFE WINTERS DANCE I LOOK FORWARD TO THE WINTERS CYLCE OF LIFE THE TIME TO REFLECT UPON MY SUMMERS GROWTH. I LOOK TO SPRING TO RENEW MY SPIRIT.
THE SNOW THAT FALLS CLEANSES MY SPIRIT LIKE IT CLEANS THE AIR. IT IS THE ONLY TIME I CAN WALK ON WATER IN MY STOLLS THROUGH THE BARREN FOREST OF LEAVES I CAN SEE MORE CLEARLY THE WOODS FOR WHAT THEY ARE .MY HOME MY WINTER HAVEN.I SEE LIFE ALL AROUND THE CARDNAL, THE SQURIL ,THE RABBIT ALL MAKE THERESELVES KNOWN. SHE IS AS PURE SNOW SHE BLANKETS ME WITH HER ROBE AND COVERS ME FROM HARM.
WINTERS DARK
I FEEL THE FREEZE UPON MY SOUL ITS GRIP IS HARSH AND THE WIND CUTS THROUGH ME AS IF I WAS A WRAITH OF NO IMPORTANCE. ITS DARK AND I AM AFRAID OF THE WOODS THEY LOOK LIKE HANDS FROM NIGHTMARE SKELETEL DRAGONS. TO SEIZE MY HOPE I LOOK INTO THE DEPTHS OF A FROZEN LAKE THE SOUNDS OF POPING ICE WARN ME OF HIDDEN DANGERS IF I LOOK INTO THE RELFECTION I SEE THE FLAWS OF MY SOUL THE PARTS WHERE NO LIGHT CAN BE FOUND. ON A WINTER MOONLESS NIGHT I AM ASHAMED OF THE THINGS I HAVE DONE IN THE NAME OF SELF GRATIFICATION THE FROZEN GRIP KILLS THE THE ROOTS OF NEXT SPIRNGS FRUIT. THERE IS NO WARMTH IN HER EMBRACE SHE IS THE COLDNESS OF THE HEART.
WE ALL GO THROUGH REFECTION AT SOEM POINT THE WINTER CAN BE A TIME TO CELBRATE OUR PAST ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ENJOY WHAT WE HAVE STORED UP OR OUR FAILURES AND OUR FEARS. CAN KEEP US IN A COLD GRIP. THE TWO POEMS HERE HAVE TWO MEANINGS THE KEY IS HOW WILL WE HANDLE THE WINTERS IN OUR LIVES.
