Sekhmet, Goddess of War

Sekhmet means She who is powerful. She was a mighty ancient Egyptian goddess, who was the daughter of Ra, and was known as the Eye of Ra. Though known as the goddess of war, Sekhmet was known as the power that protects the good and annihilates the bad. She was meant to destroy the men that rebelled against her father, Ra. She destroyed them with such fury, that Ra feared she might exterminate the entire race. <p>As for you, I'd say you have a pretty good personality. You know humans cannot be trusted, and you are hesitant to do things, so you stick up for yourself and others well. Just watch that temper of yours and life should be great.<p>

New Website

I have finally set up my new web site in honor of Sekhmet. Building a website is NOT easy even in the easiest of site builders. One slip of the mouse and you delete an entire section, which is what I have just done - grrrrrr. But I will be working on it this weekend. Right now it is a little anemic, but at least you can bookmark it and come back as I post more on the sight.

Frustration

I have been looking all over to learn more about Kemetics, but I have been unable to find a really active group. I find postings and a few discussion boards but I guess I am just not getting the gist of it. I have always had a passion for ancient Egypt and the various cults that functioned there. I have read so much on the topics and have book after book, but I have only approached it from a historical perspective.

Family will kill ya

So here I am trying to handle my mother's business - trying to keep peace when out of the woodwork comes the rest of the family. As far as the journey you asked about goes; there's been about 11 years of it now, so it's a long and windy road. That road has been walked almost all because of Sekhmet. It led me to Australia twice and later to 7 yrs serving as a W'ab priest in a temple I still hang around, though the ties there are getting looser each day and as I continue to grow.

I have met and developed closer relationships to a few other Gods and ancestors along the way, but She, Sekhmet, is the One Who made it all happen. I would never have even glanced in Egypt's direction if not for Her prompting. xD

Right now, I'm just branching out and looking for new perspectives and personalities to connect with. :)
