About Me:
Learning about different forms of spirituality ranging from Hinduism to Asatru. Still trying to figure out if its just me or them....
Beliefs / Practices
Spiritual but not Religious, Satanist, Shaman, Other Spirituality
Other Beliefs/Practices
Nicherin Buddhism is my main practice, very curious about Asatru and northern Heathenism - what little I've read their concepts of honor and duty are truly lacking in todays world. Learning about aspects of Hinduism, Satanism, calling and being called on my bullshit. Currently listening to the Unnamed Path podcast. Enjoying what the man has to say quite a bit. Will be giving it a second listen.

My greatest pleasure and connection to my own and natures spirits is having gotten my hands back into the earth. Sweating while I work in the yard, and trying to listen to what nature has to say. So far I'm stone deaf, but still keep listening.
Hobbies
Learning about sustainable gardening and permaculture. Reading, learning new things. Have a variety of tropical and non-tropical food plants: cassava, taro, red and white sweet potato, asparagus and goa beans, bananas, both the sweet and cooking variety., mango, avocado, canistel, tomatoes, scallions, rue, mint, oregano, zuchinni, experimenting with an andean root crop called yakon. Going to give quinoa, calabash and a bush variety of soybean a try.

Asparagus beans in the back yard are being ravaged by ants and aphids. Have planted a few Goa beans in the same area and the ants dont seem to be bothering them. Using a spot insecticide but there is really no production going on with the Asparagus beans. I have planted the Asparagus and Goa beans in a different location out front. So far no ants. The papayas are finally fruiting! This year we see what makes it and what doesn't. The ultimate goal is to keep stocked with a supply of fresh veggies and donate the rest to a food bank.

Still working on the rain water catchment system. Have a total of 7 rain barrels so far. Two that are functional. The others I plan to connect into a system to make an above ground cistern. Just need to put up a gutter in the front roof line to take advantage of the huge surface area.
Heroes
Those that help quietly, without needing nor wanting recompense. Lord Hanuman.
Likes
I like most things, rolling around in the earth. Getting a full weeks growth of beard without having to shave. Once again enjoying our natural scents without having to run to use the RightGuard. Not talking STINK, but our own earthy smells. Growing things, good meals and brews with friends.
Dislikes
People who are unable to talk about anything but themselves. It's ok to be quiet if you have nothing to say.. no need to constantly yammer. Starting to develop a serious disgust for meat. Tempeh, tofu, eggs and occasionally chicken is good, but prefer high protein grains and vegetables. Things that are strongly flavored. Tried quinoa for the first time a few days ago... most excellent.

You are the Hanged Man

Self-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound.

With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of loss from a situation, rather than gain.

The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.

The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.

Your Result: Spirit

Your Spirit is moved by the Element of Spirit. You feel a stronger connection to a Greater Spirit than to any particular aspect of it. Your head is often in the clouds, but you usually get a good view from up there.

Clearing the Front Yard

Have started clearing the front yard of the sweet potato and cargo vines. Give the other stuff a chance to grow without being strangled out by the vines. May trying casting some quinoa seeds in an area to see how they do. By end of November will rent a tiller and mix all the decomposed mulch into the soil also break up and remove that gardening cloth we put down. We had originally intended to make the front an ornamental garden, with the cloth choking out the weeds. The weeds just grew on top of… Continue

Just about finished with deck

Need one more 12 x 6 x 2 to finish off the last plank, put up the cross beams to support the canopy, then the railing as I get around to it. First thing I built on my own. Not very pretty, but a great sense of satisfaction. Here is an obscured view as it's raining but you get the idea.

Merry Meet! I happen to live in Bradenton, and my friends and I have circles as often as we can. We are all mostly Pagan, some are interested in Celtic roots, some are more traditional, while there are a few that only stick to a few practices. Many of us are new to Paganism, but I myself have been practicing for almost 7 years.

Greetings, Greg,
Wise words. There are still some people who do not recognize that Herbs can be very powerful. Powerful in healing as well as in hurting. Let me just mention the Tansy.
Anyone who wants to use herbs needs first of all a very good book about them and
a lot of learning. To also have a good teacher is not to forget.
I wish you a blessed summer Solstice,
Brockenhexe
