Hello! My name is Allen and I am a 44 year old gay male. I live in Wytheville, Virginia USA with Randy, my partner of 2 years. I was married for 20 years before that, and have a 16 year old daughter named Tiffany. I do production work at a local factory which makes advanced engineering grade plastics which are used in engines as well as in the oil industry. I practice an ecclectic mix of paganism, primarily shamanic henotheism with a bit of wicca and druidry thrown in. I have been pagan for about 3 years.

Favorite Books

I enjoy reading. I like Science Fiction (LOVE Frank Herbert's Dune series, as well Jack L. Chalker's Well of Souls books and post apocalyptic books), and Fantasy (C. S. Lewis' Narnia books and Tolkien's Lord of the Rings). I also enjoy reading Shakespeare (The Tempest, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet and MacBeth are my favorites) as well as Charles Dickens (I have read A Christmas Carol MANY times), Ray Bradbury (Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Halloween Tree), and Edgar Alan Poe (The Raven is the best poem ever). Anything by Charles De Lint, C. E. Murphy, Holly Black, Mercedes Lackey, any urban fantasy.

I love Celtic music (Capercaillie, Clannad, Enya, Maire Brennan, Runrig, Mary Jane Lamond, etc). I also love Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, as well as Evanescence, Sarah MacLachlan, and Loreena McKennitt,The Doobie Brothers and Journey.

Favorite movies: The Dark Crystal, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Pan's Labyrinth, The Village, The Seeker, The Harry Potter films, The Craft, Spiderwick, TLOTR, for starters.

Favorite TV shows: Charmed, Bewitched, Dante's Cove, Forever Knight, Blood Ties True Blood, The Dresden Files, etc.

Heroes

My heroes are the TRUE heroes - those who give of themselves to help other: Teachers, fire-fighters, policemen, rescue workers, nurses.

Likes

Being outdoors, listening to music, reading, calligraphy, watching movies, drinking tea.

Dislikes

I do not enjoy watching sports at all and find it offensive when sports players are called "heroes." I try to avoid watching television at all when possible. Other dislikes include rap music, any kind of metal music, opera, bluegrass, war movies sports movies and westerns, large dogs, snakes, spiders, black licorice and jelly beans, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, grits, hominy, oatmeal, tequila, absinthe, white and green teas, and raw onions.
