"Hello everyone, I'm Ashton from Kennett, Missouri [Literally the middle of nowhere]. I've been practicing magick and witchcraft since I was fifteen, but interested since I was twelve. I've looked into other paths up until last year…"
While I have been practicing magick and witchcraft since I was twelve, I've also looked into a few paths before finding my place in Asatru. I've done a lot of research, but I thought it would be better to ask those who also follow the path about their experiences and knowledge they have gained over time... So, please... Tell me how you found your place in Asatru, and what would be some advice you would give a newcomer?See More
Ashton is pronounced ASH-ten. It is of Old English origin, and the meaning of Ashton is "ash tree town". Surname used as a given name. Occurs occasionally as a boys' name in England from the 1600s, but now it is used mainly for girls.
My last name is Irish, and was originally spelled as "Kiely", although the spelling may have changed when my ancestors immigrated to the USA in the early nineteen hundreds.
A little bit about myself...
I'm an average girl who has been interested in magick and witchcraft since the age of twelve, although I did not begin to practice until the age of fifteen. I've looked into a few other paths before settling on the path of Asatru.
My patron god[s] are Odin and Thor, while my patron goddess is Freya.
My favorite holiday/sabbat is Sanhaim, and the second is Yule.
At times it can be a bit difficult for me to expand my knowledge about my path and practices... because I am one of the very few in my area who is Pagan[ Or even a Heathen for that matter]. Anyone who would like to help me out, just tell me!
On the less serious side....
When I'm not working, I am usually at home watching movies, writing, or reading. Sometimes I hang out with friends and goof off. There's usually a party or two in the mix at times.
I am currently in a relationship [Four months on May 13th] with one of the most wonderful guys I've ever known. Indeed, we have our disagreements,, and differences, but we work through them. Christian is my one and only. and I love his ironic name. [Being that he is a nonbeliever of Christianity. Lol]
Really, if you just get to know me, it's a lot easier. I don't like to write about myself, because everyone sees me differently. So, just leave a message or comment. :]
That is a very long list. Top five are...
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Hollow Kingdom Trilogy
Howl's Moving Castle
100 Vicious Little Vampire Stories
Almost anything by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Beliefs / Practices
Working with Charkas, Meditation, Crystal Magick, Norse Mythology, Symbolism, Numerology, Astrology, "Hippie-ism", Faerie Magick, Binaural Brainwaves/Beats, LeVay Satanism [Not a practicer, although I do like the concept of it.]
I really don't have any "heroes" so to say, but there are people I look up to.
