This is a place for folks to just sit around the Campfire Circle and make friends, share points of view, have fun and GROW! The spiritual path you're on doesn't matter - we're all headed to the same place, we all pray to the same Creator.

About Me:
Walking the Blue Road. I have long been learning the legends and ceremonies of both the First Peoples and my Celtic ancestral roots.

It is my life goal to return to the Puget Sound region (I was born and raised in the Greater Seattle area) and spend time with the elders of each of the tribes to learn the stories and legends, heroes of long past, and other such tales so that they can be recorded and shared before they are lost forever. Having been born there (the Puget Sound region) and living 2/3 of my life there I feel a powerful connection to the First Ones.
I have been blessed with the giving of my 1st native name, Greywolf, by the Lummi band of the Coastal Salish when I Vision Quested on their island in 1980. My mother's side of the family have inter-marriage connections with the Chehalis dating back to 1874. While I have never attempted to enroll in any tribe, in my heart I feel I am Salish. As such it is my desire to learn the sacred rites of the peoples of the land of my birth and to honor their memories by continuing these practices so that my ancestors will never be forgotten.
My MySpace
Favorite Books
Boy that's a long list so I'll just list some authors:

Mary Summer Rain
Thomas E. Mails (esp. Fools Crow: Wisdom and Power!)
Hyemeyohsts Storm (Seven Arrows is a MUST read)
Carlos Castaneda
Hugh MacKimmie
Don Miguel Ruiz
James Redfield
Beliefs / Practices
Pagan, Shaman, Native American Spirituality
Other Beliefs/Practices
I am a Sacred Pipe Carrier, trained in the Lakota fashion; a Firekeeper, and Stone Receiver for our Inipi Lodge but am also of Celtic descent and have always been drawn to Druidic beliefs as well.

I believe that every hour of every day is sacred and should be treated as such. Every form of life should be acknowledged and respected.

I firmly believe in honoring the ancestors who came before us and asking them for their guidance and wisdom in these modern times to help bring the human race back into balance with Mother Earth.
Hobbies
Being outdoors, hiking and hunting for relics and artifacts. I also love walking the so-called badlands here in Wyoming finding the ingredients I need to make my kinnikinnick and other herbal combinations. Reading and watching movies. I also create by taking the leftover pieces of pipestone and carving shapes and objects from them.
Heroes
Frank Fools Crow, Black Elk, Chief Si'ahl (commonly known as Seattle), and those of that ilk. Also a very dear friend got me back on the spiritual path some 19 years ago. I owe her a huge debt.
Likes
Too many to list. But traveling is a main one - I have lived all over the Puget Sound region; in Salem, Oregon; in Dallas and San Antonio, TX; in Colorado Springs, CO; in Columbus, NC; and currently in Worland, WY. While working for various governments (State and Military), I have been blessed with being able to visit 48 of our 50 states as well as Canada and Mexico.
Dislikes
Plastic people, trophy hunters, litter bugs, arrogant folks, those who don't let the quiet ones speak - it's my experience that when a person who normally says little has something to say that it's VERY worthwhile to listen to.

Taking a Mental Walkabout - Part 3

I just wanted to share some quotes from a book I reading titled "The Native Americans, An Illustrated History", written by many and published by TurnerPublishingInc of Atlanta.

On the inside flap of the cover is the following text:

"Depossessed of their ancestral homelands by successive invasions of Europeans, the first real Americans have long been cloaked in a veil of myth and legend that has hidden from us the true richness and diversity of Indian civilizations and cultures. This new… Continue

Taking a Mental Walkabout - Part 2

I've spent the day reading, meditating and responding on here and have been excited by the initial responses. And since you all seem ready to jump to a higher vibrational level - let's go!

I think I left off at the 7th Insight and my recurring dream of being with the Dkhw’Duw’Absh, the Duwamish tribe of the Coastal Salish, or in their own terms: The People of the Inside. The Peruvian manuscript was reportedly written by the Maya in roughly 600 B.C. and shockingly was in Aramaic, a precur… Continue

Taking a Mental Walkabout - Part 1

Be forewarned, I am about to wander all over the spiritual map. Some of my wanderings may sound quite strange and some will hit home for you, dear friends. All I ask is that you think about what I've said without judging it. Please forgive any misspellings - I'm not that good a typist.

I believe it is part of my role in this lifetime to follow the Blue Path. And allow me to explain what I precieve as the Blue Path. To me, it is a combination of all paths. It is seeing the good and the tr… Continue

What is the Gift Of The Waters Pageant?

I don't know if you've ever heard of the Mineral Hot Springs in Thermopolis, WY; but they are the largest in the world (in volume of water coming out every second). A few hundred yards away, sloping downhill from the spring is the Big Horn River, one of only 3 in North America that runs south-to-north. Between the Big Spring and the river there is a plateau which over many centuries has become large, natural cooling ponds. The water comes out of the ground at about 160 degrees, just below boilin… Continue

A Poem by Lauri Ross

My good friend whom I lived with for several years in North Carolina recently entered the following poem in a poetry contest and won a $500 prize for it:

Green Corn and Sky

In rural Minnesota,
there was little on the horizon,
except in summertie
when Green Corn was there,
growing everywhere,
360 degrees around;
so much corn you could hear
it growing, out loud.

You could hear its growing pains,
groaning under its own hugeness.
Then, sometimes, rustling lightly on the wind,
Green… Continue
