Julie, you had ask a question about Anderson, AK area. PLEASE stay away from there unless your filthy rich, and able to live off the land.
I'm an Ice Road Trucker here in AK, I've been there once, and it's not a nice place to in the winter.
I also worked as an Alaska Wildland Firefighter for several years, and we flew missions in there to fight forest fires. The place is secluded, very expensive, everything is flown in the winters.
A gallon of milk can cost as much as $10-12.00 a gallon during the summers and $20-25.00 during the winters.
