- Any series by Tamora Pierce; The "Pellinor" series by Allyson Croggon. Both are Young Adult authors - - and there are many others, whose Medieval Fantasy literature is totally entertaining! Also, Ellen Dugan, Dorothy Morrison and Scott Cunningham, just to name a few!

- I believe that being a Mom is the most important job I have ever been given - - and being a Grandma isn't so bad, either!

- My hobbies change on a daily basis - - There are so many things that interest me.....Herbs are a huge part of my life - - as are stones.....I do some writing, and quilting, occasionally. I also write poetry, when the mood strikes me.

- Cats, dogs, books.....herbs, stones...COFFEE. I also like fabric....Yes, weird, but it's the truth...I can browse in a fabric store for hours, and never leave empty-handed. I do quilt - (tied Granny-squares!), but there is just something about fabric....Also LOVE the music of David Arkenstone, and Mark Dwane!

- People who think they're better than I am - - Pretty sure most folks put their pants on the same way I do......especially when they get behind the wheel of a car - - I'm pretty sure the little sports car, who cuts me off in the turn-lane, will sustain a great deal more damage than my Explorer will.

A bit of blog for 12/20/08
The remainder of 2008 is slipping away from us very quickly! The Wheel will turn again, soon.
I have learned SO much through-out this year...and have great ambitions for 2009! I want to learn to scry...I want to become more efficient with my Tarot experience....I want to continue to learn about herbs, NOT just from a magickal point-of-view, but medicinally, as well. I dare not list anything further; I have already taken a bit I probably won't be able to chew....HOWEVER, my two biggest goals remain un-mentioned...they are: 1). To accept my weirdness as just MY weirdness, and quit worrying about what others think.....and 2) I MUST continue to work in my beautiful BOS....It is an 8x10, hand-tooled, hand-bound leather journal (which is dyed a dark-shade of orchid...) and contains pages of re-cycled paper.....It's literally, like writing on parchment! I am using my "scrap-booking" skills, to dress, and personalize my BOS, with stickers, cut-outs, and various types of fabrics, and yarns....
TONIGHT, I have started "hand-copying" the magickal qualities of herbs onto it's pages....tedious, and time-consuming, but I know it will be very rewarding.
My kitten (Basts, 2008, gift to our family - - Yes we have had a gift every year, about this time, for the last three years...), is on her "night-crazy," terrorizing the Jack Russell (Chico), the other cats, and will probably scale the Yule tree at least twice before I go to bed. Chloe is nut-zoid.....literally, the most hyper-active kitten I've had to date. I THANK Bast for her gift, every day.......*sigh..... )O(

BELTANE!
What an awesome evening! This is the first official out-door Beltane ritual that I have attended...fire, Maypole, good food, and some Peach Meade....(lets hear it for that anyway!)
My friend Malia made me a hooded cloak from fine, sage-green linen...I wore it with pride, as I cast our ritual circle, with my blue star wand, appropriately adorned with Periwinkle flowers.....
Dearest Zeus was kind enough to hold the rain during our ritual - - He even parted the clouds so we were able to gaze upon… Continue

A lovely spring day.
It's been a lovely spring day, so far. It was cold-and-windy yesterday, but today, we were able to BBQ, do some yard work and enjoy the sun.
My little outside Fae house needs some cleaning; I will add fresh crystalized ginger, some scented cotton and NEW shinny stones, and glass gems. Fresh, shinny ribbon will also need to be added; the old has faded with the harsh winter....
Most everyone has gone to bed now; I enjoy this quiet time alone. I don't seem to get too much of it anymore.....

Life's events....especially Chloe.
My precious kitten, Chloe, has disappeared. She has been gone for two days now....Evidence of an animal being hit by a car, still stains the road on the east side of our home...It can't be her - - "it's too large of a spot to be a kitten," my friend said to me.....So I have hope. I'm intuative, which sometimes interferes with my life, although the passing thought about "Chloe disappearing" seemed to be processed and buried in the "random thought" area of my brain with no further attention until… Continue

Herb of the Day - - at least for March 8th, anyway!
Heather (ERICACEAE/Calluna vulgaris/Ling/Scots Heather)
Heather provides a support system for rural farmers, who use it for fuel, thatch, fodder, tea, and as a dye. The flowers have high mineral content, and are often used as astringent, diuretic, astringent and sedative...A Heather water bath relieves rheumatic pain....Heather is also used to flavor BEER!
Magickally, Heather is ruled by Hestia and Vesta. I have used Heather for "rain" spell-work - - Had a fair amount of success!
