The Water Body

I've been making my way through Ariel's A Witch's Primer Podcast on my ipod. Today's podcast was about the water body. Accepting the water body. Opening yourself up to the water body. Etc.

I immediately began wishing today was about the earth body instead. Earth I am good with. I have a feeling Earth will be easy for me. Water, not so much.

Not because I am not in touch with my water body, or my emotional side, but because I am TOO in touch with it lately. I've been going through a lot of emot… Continue

The Greenman...

Looking back on my life, I've always had an attachment to the Greenman. As a child I was a huge Robin Hood fan. When I was 13 or so I was convinced I would grow up, go to a Christian college, marry a Baptist Pastor and be the Pastor's wife. Yet, if I go through my journals there are eyes surrounded by leaves doodled on the edges of the pages. I named my rabbit Puck after the mischievous little fairy in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" not realizing until after the fact that Puck was tho… Continue

"Reverend" Kendra renounces Wicca...

After A Pagan Heart in Maine Podcast interviewed Kendra (I don't believe she has earned the title 'reverend' so she is simply Kendra to me) I emailed her. She sent me a dvd of the show she was in on TLC, which I honestly have not sat down and watched yet. I lead a busy lifestyle, and after emailing her a few times I was turned off from anything to do with her.

I walked away from her interview with A Pagan Heart in Maine feeling she was only in it for the fame. She made jokes about how much the… Continue

Biggest Full Moon of the year this month...

"Earth, the moon and the sun are all bound together by gravity, which keeps us going around the sun and keeps the moon going around us as it goes through phases."

-Yahoo News

It's all about cycles. Circles.

Pagan practice isn't just about this earth, it's about this universe. Moon. Sun. Planets. Beyond.

Sometimes this can make me feel insignificant, until I see my magic work. And then I feel powerful...

10 of Swords

I just pulled this card from my deck. I was thinking about my best friend when I pulled it and I sat and stared at it for quite awhile. I use The Sacred Circle deck. At the top of this card it says "disillusion". Usually the symbolism on the card will tell me something. This time, nothing.

Until I opened the book that accompanies my deck.

"When the Ten of Swords appears in your spread, it indicates that you are now beginning to see a dream for what it really is - an illusion. Not surprisingly,… Continue

Greetings Katrina-If you like working with The Well Worn Path, Gramassi put out an additional deck (2007) called The Hidden Path with an accompaning book-I have it but have not worked with it yet-Personally I am drawn to anything Gramassi-Including the Aradia path.....The Robin Wood deck is put out by an English woman and has gained interest in the last few years because it's pagan based, smaller cards (as opposed to Sacred Circle), the images are not abstract and she has maintained the theme similar to the waite/rider deck...The colors are very clear and brilliant-thanks for emng me back Katrina! Blessings, Ianna

Greetings Katrina! This is Ianna-Wondering if you are familiar with Fiona Morgan's 'Daughter's of the Moon' deck-I really enjoy it except that the cards are extremely large for shuffling (but the symbols/colors/pics are brilliant!). I also use the Sacred Circle deck- Have a great day! Blessings, Ianna
