About Me:
I have one cat, a female himalayan, in case you care. I've had cats all my life. But if I lived in a nice 10 acre wooded area, I'd probably have an Alaskan Huskie or Malamute. Other than that, I'm sort of a nice, quiet, easy going, stay at home kind of guy myself. I enjoy camping out with my (straight) friends during the day and long quiet walks in the woods, especially at night. I'm fascinated by crystals, candles, incense, wolves, bats, gargoyles, vampires, dragons, skulls and other interesting little darkly macabre and gothic odds and ends.

Favorite Books
Clive Barker is the best author of dark fiction and horror I've ever read. Anne Rice does the best vampire themed fiction ever- so dark, brooding and sexual. Stephen King is pretty damn good too. Douglas Clegg, Mick Garris, Douglas Adams, Poppy Z Brite, Edward Lee, Kaitlin R Keirnan, Stephen R Donaldson and his Thomas Covenant series kicks ass! Come to think of it, I've read a LOT of books over the years.
Beliefs / Practices
Spiritual but not Religious, Pagan, Wiccan, Native American Spirituality
Other Beliefs/Practices
I've been involved in the Pagan/Wiccan spirituality in general for a quarter century. I've read a number of different pagan and dark art kinds of books...Jack of all trades, master of none I guess. I've studies Shamanism-Native American spirituality, Zen Buddhism and Tai Chi and a few other as well, to a lesser degree.
Hobbies
I've dabbled in the Tarot cards for over 20 years. I get off on thunderstorms and tornadoes and one day hope to see an actual real live one! I like putting on the headphones to hard rock music and reading dark fiction and horror novels. I love hockey and the NHL-let's go Red Wings! I love high school and college baseball, football and wrestling; and if you happen to be a gay rocker that loves those sports too, then be sure and ask me about my fetish sometimes, too! ;-)
How did you find PaganSpace?
Coincidence? Karma? It came to me in a dream!

Sacrament

"I am a man, and men are animals who tell stories. This is a gift from God, who spoke our species into being, but left the end of our story untold. That mystery is troubling to us. How could it be otherwise? Without the final part, we think, how are we to make sense of all that went before: which is to say, our lives?

So we make stories of our own, in fevered and envious imitation of our Maker, hoping that we'll tell, by chance, what God left untold. And finishing our tale, come to understand why we were born." - Clive Barker, prologue to Sacrament.

You are the Hanged Man

Self-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound.

With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of loss from a situation, rather than gain.

The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.

The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.

Is it considered "stealing"?

Posted on November 30, 2008 at 11:11am 0 Comments

A few nights ago I ordered a pizza for me and a friend to eat. I noticed I was out of paper towels AND napkins just before I went to pick it up. Now as I waited for the pizza at the parlor, I noticed several piles of paper napkins nested inside these neat-o salt and pepper holders. I casually took a big 'ole wad of napkins and stuffed them in my pants pocket. Then I took a second and a third wad, leaving the holders virtually empty. So then when I got home I had a whole bunch of napkins and ate… Continue

No Stimulus Check for Thanksgiving

The tax return guy said I'd get a Stimulus Check as he finished my 2007 taxes way back in March. Virtually everyone in North America was gonna get one, so YAY for me. So I patiently waited, and really pretty much forgot about it all together. A little later on I started to wonder where it was. I checked the offical IRS site near the end of September. You'll get it, we're just a little late, the the IRS said. October rolls on. November rolls on.… Continue

Thanksgiving or Hot Sex?

Posted on November 24, 2008 at 8:05pm 1 Comment

Here is a little list of some of the things you might hear during Thanksgiving that sound dirty, but really aren't. You might even study the list and use a few of them at the appropriate times. Can you think of others?

1. Talk about a huge breast!

2. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist.

3. It's Cool Whip time!

4. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!

5. Whew, that's one terrific spread!

6. I'm in the mood for a little dark meat.

7. Are… Continue

Wii Bowling: My Defining Moment

Posted on November 8, 2008 at 5:31pm 0 Comments

The Motor City Bears had a Wii Bowling tournament going on last night, held at the apartment of the three guys that live there, one of which is named Tyler whom I've gotten to know pretty well over the last four months or so. (damn is he a little hottie too! BARK!) We first met through the 'net through a "Pagan Men for Men" site and we seemed to hit it off well with interests, likes and dislikes. He told me he was a member of the Motor City Bears and I was interested in it. So after having… Continue

Cuddly bear needs a little lovin'...

One of the biggest things I ever faced was my fear of being gay, in the closet and being alone. My fear wasn't so much of being closeted, though, as much as it was me being in denial of being gay. Today I am no longer afraid; today I am out n proud to be out. Everyone that needs to know-family and closest friends-already know and it's no big deal to them anyhow.

What I'm still hoping to find are some friends: gay friends that… Continue
