- I come from a not overly Catholic family. My sibs and I were only baptized and rarely taken to church since my mom was of the opinion that you didn't need a special building or a priest to talk to God. At some point I fell out of that belief system (too much didn't make sense) and became basically agnostic.
I had read the stories of various pantheons as a child and found those deities 'more human' for lack of a better phrase and therefore more identifiable. But of course I thought their time had passed and just enjoyed them as stories.
Also of course there were the movies and cartoons about witches. But I was different in that I had an interest in the paranormal since elementary school, so I knew the reality of the Salem Witch Trials and the like.
I'm late to the game, it wasn't til my early 30's that I decided to look into Wicca/Paganism. As to be expected, I found the mainstream schools of thought. You need to be out on a farm or woodland, worship just the Goddess, deny any negative aspects of yourself, love all humans and do complicated rituals.
There are many people for whom those ideals are a perfect fit. I am not one of them. I am a city girl who has lived all but four years in one type of desert or another. I have an inordinate need for balance, so I need the male/female, dark/light aspects. Love all humans? Yeah, no sorry. There are people out there who have no right to be breathing. (Mention should be made now of books in personal library about serial killers. So yeah, I'm right). And while I enjoy the mystique of ceremony, I wasn't Catholic long enough to develop the attention span for it.
So how am I Pagan now? *smiles* Blame the Vampires. A long time favorite subject of mine, I was doing a search for them on a file sharer and came across a doc called 'Gothic Vampire Paganism'. *insert RCA dog headtilt* I read it and found something I could believe in. A search uncovered that the doc had been cannibalized from an essay by John J. Coughlin. I went to his website, bought his book and knew I was home.
I have a slender link to Lord Mars by virtue of my family name. But I couldn't decide on a pantheon. My genealogy is Native Mexican, Spanish, French and Portuguese. Not that much there I thought (uncertainity on which tribe we were back then. So I turned to books, found a quiz in Practical Solitary Magic by Nancy B Watson. I tested as intuitive and the suggestion for beginners with that temperment was the Egyptian pantheon. They had been amoung the deities I had read in childhood so I jumped in and found the water very nice thank you. In a nice twist, the pantheon suggested for advance intuitives was Norse, since they are of sensate temperment and would thereby provide a balance. I was a few months into my studies of the Neteru when I was given the honor of being asked by two great friends to be the first to join their brand new kindred, The Norse Wolfpack. We consider ourselves a Universalist Heathen group, with many of our members maintaining ties to other paths. We are one of the few groups in the Phoenix area, and one of two Norse based, that hold open rituals. Ours are on the Sabbats. Our Esbats are closed to the kindred only and I am proud to say that this Dec Full Moon ritual will be the first one I have written.
I will say, for a long time I felt my claim to following the Norse pantheon was less certified then others. You think Germanic, you think Scandinavian. That was of course before I learned of the conquest of the Iberian Penisula and France by the various Goth branches. Was it validation I needed to defend my choice to others? No. Was it something I needed for me? Yes. And yet strangly I didn't need that with regards to my Tameran side (Egyptian based Wicca).
But then, that fits me as well, the contradition. I'm all about the contradictions.

- In additon to my basic Dark Neo Paganism, I am proud to say I have a copy of The Satanic Bible in my library. Am I a Satanist? No. But do I know there are different flavors of Satanism out there and agree to a certain extent with Uncle Anton? Yes.

So a guy was going thru my line a little while back (cashier at a Goodwill) and caught sight of my Thor's Hammer. Thanks so much for all of you for not going by what my religion is as a Satanist unlike the 32 friend requests that are still being waited on to be accepted as of October 8th.
Some people I guess don't see me as a human being of flesh and blood and take my religion as a Satanist to heart!. I guess, I seem to over stature or overwhelming.
If some of them are or may be christian's witch I am un-clear of if they are or not. I don't care what they believe in. I don't judge people for who they are or for what there beliefs are.. However, if they are christian's. Aren't christian's suppose to love all as they claim but yet the people I requested to add me as a friend are still in waiting to be accepted since I wished them all a happy birthday since October 8th till now!.
Now you tell me who's hating who here more?
My point being is this. If they are Christian's which I am un-sure of if they are. Only in powers my beliefs in my lord Satan even more!. Since Jehovah is going to flood the earth over again starting in 2012 to 2018 as it states in my book of satanic occult prophecies. Even the prophecies of nostradamus states this too!..
In the bible of Jehovah it states he killed people by flood, black plague, locusts eating farm crops, famine and disease. Since Satan did not like what Jehovah was doing to the people of the earth and left heaven to fight against Jehovah for doing that to his people of the earth as it was written!.
Satan has never done any of these things. Jehovah has. Just remember who killed who for going agents Jehovah!.. If you go agent Satan, it is no big deal to him since he gives you the choice in choosing your own path whether it be the right or left hand paths!..
So for all you Christian's where's your god now? Why worship a god of death and destruction such as jehovah anyway when he is only going to kill us all by flood again.
And yet, Again I judge no one!..
