About Me:

Raised in a family Tradition, Matriarch of same. There are 3 generations of pagans in the family. I am disabled but active in the local pagan community. I have a degree in speech/theatre and 33 semester hours of accounting training. I have 5 grown children and 3 grandchildren. One of our grandsons lives with us.

Favorite Books

Religious books: Spiral Dance, Truth or Dare, Pagan Book of Living and Dying (all 3 by Starhawk), The Magical Household by Cunningham, Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets by Walker, The Witches' God and The Witches' Goddess by the Farrars, The Holy Book Of Women's Mysteries by Budapest, Jambalaya by Teish, The Elemental Encyclopedia of 5000 Spells. Enjoyment: every thing by Loren Eisley, Mary Reynault, Lindsey Davis, Michael Connoly, Loren Estleman, Jane Austin, J.R.R Tolkein, and the Harry Potter books. A series of nature books Called The Practical Geologist, Botanist, Ornithologist.......etc., The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds both Eastern and Western Regions. There are so many others, but it would take all day to list them.

In warm weather I paddle my sit on top kayak on local lakes. I own a giant schnauzer who is a real joy! I collect stones, teapots, ceramic and other Birds (except live ones), and 6 scale dolls, action figures, and their acessories including Doll houses. I am a passionate Cook and use food as a means to protect, and heal those I love and persons who enter my home. I garden and tend my house plants and herbs. I am a student of nature and hope to learn all I can until my journey to the Summerland.

Heroes

My greatgrandfather Michael Joseph Dore, a Chicago fireman who died in 1916 as the result of injuries sustained in the line of duty. Eileen O'Dower, a kinswoman. She was a 16th Century Druid/witch who stood firm on the battlements of Glin Castle and cast defensive spells at the invading British in the face of cannons for which she was no match.

Likes

Chocolate, bird song, high places, green fields and forests, Irish whisky, New Mexico wine, licorice, potato soup, meat loaf with mashed potatoes, potroast, sausage biscuits. Blitz Tort, sterling silver, pearls, calm lakes and little brooks. Knitting, poetry both reading and writing. Green Chiles, Carne Adovada and my Computer.

Dislikes

Neocons, Bible thumpers, bigots of all stripes, lima beans, sweet tea, greenbean casserole, the chronic pain that I live with, the dulling of my mental acuity resulting from a massive stroke 10 years ago, and modern packaging which makes opening opening a $3 package of OTC sinus medicine more difficult than breaking into Ft. Knox.!

I am sorry if I missed sending a personal message to anyone as the number of greetings has been overwhelming in a wonderful way.
