WE CAN LOOK AT LIFE IN TWO WAYS IN A LIGHTER MOOD OR A DARKER MOOD. WHAT WINTER DESCRIBES PART OF YOUR SOUL? ONE OR THE OTHER OR BOTH?
WINETRS LIGHT
IN THE COLDNESS OF A WINTERS DAY I FEEL MY SOUL VIBRATE TO THE ICE CRYSTALS UPON THE TREES OF GREEEN PINES I DELIGHT IN THE SUNS RELFECTIONS LIKE THOUSAND OF DIMONDS TO CELIBRATE LIFE WINTERS DANCE I LOOK FORWARD TO THE WINTERS CYLCE OF LIFE THE TIME TO REFLECT UPON MY SUMMERS GROWTH. I LOOK TO SPRING TO RENEW MY SPIRIT.
THE SNOW THAT FALLS CLEANSES MY SPIRIT LIKE IT CLEANS THE AIR. IT IS THE ONLY TIME I CAN WALK ON WATER IN MY STOLLS THROUGH THE BARREN FOREST OF LEAVES I CAN SEE MORE CLEARLY THE WOODS FOR WHAT THEY ARE .MY HOME MY WINTER HAVEN.I SEE LIFE ALL AROUND THE CARDNAL, THE SQURIL ,THE RABBIT ALL MAKE THERESELVES KNOWN. SHE IS AS PURE SNOW SHE BLANKETS ME WITH HER ROBE AND COVERS ME FROM HARM.
WINTERS DARK
I FEEL THE FREEZE UPON MY SOUL ITS GRIP IS HARSH AND THE WIND CUTS THROUGH ME AS IF I WAS A WRAITH OF NO IMPORTANCE. ITS DARK AND I AM AFRAID OF THE WOODS THEY LOOK LIKE HANDS FROM NIGHTMARE SKELETEL DRAGONS. TO SEIZE MY HOPE I LOOK INTO THE DEPTHS OF A FROZEN LAKE THE SOUNDS OF POPING ICE WARN ME OF HIDDEN DANGERS IF I LOOK INTO THE RELFECTION I SEE THE FLAWS OF MY SOUL THE PARTS WHERE NO LIGHT CAN BE FOUND. ON A WINTER MOONLESS NIGHT I AM ASHAMED OF THE THINGS I HAVE DONE IN THE NAME OF SELF GRATIFICATION THE FROZEN GRIP KILLS THE THE ROOTS OF NEXT SPIRNGS FRUIT. THERE IS NO WARMTH IN HER EMBRACE SHE IS THE COLDNESS OF THE HEART.
WE ALL GO THROUGH REFECTION AT SOEM POINT THE WINTER CAN BE A TIME TO CELBRATE OUR PAST ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ENJOY WHAT WE HAVE STORED UP OR OUR FAILURES AND OUR FEARS. CAN KEEP US IN A COLD GRIP. THE TWO POEMS HERE HAVE TWO MEANINGS THE KEY IS HOW WILL WE HANDLE THE WINTERS IN OUR LIVES.

GYPSUM [Astrological Sign of Aries]
Gypsum crystaUizes in the form of granular masses, fibrous shapes, and prismatic,
needle-like, and tabular crystals. The colour range includes white, colourless,
greenish, yellow-to-brown, grey, pink, honey-yeUow, yeUow, blue, red, red-brown,
brown, and black.
Gypsum, in the form of crystals, is known as selenite and is discussed in the
SELENITE section of this book.
Gypsum, in the form of masses, is known as alabaster and is discussed in the
ALABASTER section of this book.
Gypsum, in the fibrous form, is "really" gypsum, and is discussed here.
This mineral can be used to mold ones character toward both the ideals of growth
and improvement. Stagnation is eUminated and progression is strengthened.
It also helps one to sustain the self when events of Ufe are "happening too quickly".
It is a lovely stone to place in the middle of the medicine wheel; it can bring together
the four directions of the medicine wheel and can induce the synthesis of these
directions with Mother Earth and Father Sky.
It can also bring the members of the wheel into the conditions of "right" thought and
action, while maintaining a connection between the members via the heart chakras.
Gypsum is considered the "Lucky Stone". It provides a strong influence for bringing
good fortune to the fortunate Earth-keeper.
It has been used in ceremonies of rain-making by the aboriginal tribes; these
ceremonies required that gypsum be "thrown into the air" such that upon the return
and dispersement of the fibers, the god of rain would know where to allow the rain
to fall.
Fibrous gypsum also helps to produce strong bones and can renew and enhance the
elasticity in ones skin and tissue. An elixir applied to the skin and/or taken internally
could produce lasting results. It has also been used by the ancient tribes to stimulate
fertiUty
