A group for Pagans who practice a martial path along with their spiritual path. No matter what style, rank, gender, orientation, or experience level, all pagan martial artists are welcome.
I'm a dad, husband, heathen, researcher, writer, poet, and philosopher. One who doesn't fall within any specific political association, nor is one to quickly conform to any ideology. Independent minded, and questions many things in search for that which would clarify.......existence and/or social evolution.. I am also dedicated to the elder troð (Old Norse = Faith) of my Nordic ancestors--a faith that goes by many names throughout Scandinavia: Heiðni, Ásatrú/Ásatro (which means True to the Æsir), Vánatrú (True to the Vánir), Forn Siðr (the Ancient way or tradition), Forn sed (the Old custom), Nordisk sed (Nordic custom), or Hedensk sed (Pagan custom).
Old Norse sagas (the Prose and Poetic Edda, Heimskringla Egil's Saga, The Saga of the Volsungs, et.al.), history, anthropology, philosophy, or futuristic studies.
Beliefs / Practices
Heathen
Other Beliefs/Practices
Runes
Hobbies
Woodcarving, fishing, and football--both American and world
Heroes
Those who "stand tall" in the face of adversity for that which is philosophically virtuous and just. This does not include most socio-political movements as, by-in-large, most are focused upon selfish pursuits and objectives and have no consideration for the good of all in lieu of that which would only benefit themselves or a few others.
Likes
The mountains, the rocky coast where I can watch the waves crash upon the rocks, thunderstorms, and other elements of nature that prove that we are a part of this earth and not dominator's thereof.
Dislikes
Oath-breakers, fakes, and those who remain willfully ignorant.

Here is my New Year wish for you.
"May every sunrise hold more promise, every moonrise hold more peace."
-Anon.
I hope that your Holidays are going well and that you recieved all that you wished for and more.
Thank you for the friend request, Kjartan! When I was seven years old, I lived out in Spokane, WA, and I really loved it there. It was during the year that Mt. St. Helen's erupted, and we all had to wear masks to protect us from the ashes--which had even spread where I was living at. I only lived there for a year and remember walking to an old historical house--but it was fall and the memories of the leaves on the trees were as golden as the sun shining upon them. It was just so beautiful there. Have you lived in WA for all of your life? Isn't Walla Walla the state capital?
Blessings to you and yours,
~CSgirl
Hello, Kjartan! Thank you for the picture. It was very nice of you. What exactly is a "heathen"? I've heard the term floating around here, but I haven't really had the chance to look it up yet and learn about it.
Have a safe and happy winter solstice, and a merry yule.
blessings to you and yours,

Samhain is a time when the bridge that separates the world of the living and the world of the dead becomes firmer, allowing spirits and ghosts and ghouls to cross over. These spirits or departed souls are honored and asked to grant luck and prosperity. Regardless what you call it today it is a festival dedicated to the dead
As the dead can enter this world the barrier to future 'worlds' is weakest at this time. All around the island of All Hallows Eve the barriers fall. This day was often selected for a scrying or glimpse of the future.
As the souls of the dead walk the land so do the evil spirits, people wear masks and light bonfires to scare them away.
In Ireland people went door-to-door collecting food and sticks or turf for a feast and bonfire. Those who gave got good luck; those who did not got bad luck.
