Yep, I'm still here, and the show is not dead. I spent the summer focussed on many things that have to take priority over the podcast. I've also been preparing for more episodes. The show I am working on now will be out by October 1st. I will, of course, be discussing the similarities between politics and religion. I am a very ecclectic witch with roots in Wicca and Native American Spirituality. I have boldly walked my path for most of my life. I am a musician by trade, a hunter by choice, and a father by the kind graces of the god and goddess.

I am unapologetic in my beliefs. I am most definitely NOT your text-book witch. My politics lean right, but I yearn for the Republican party that Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln represented, not neccessarily that which is prevalent in our present government. I also consider myself a "cowboy goth". I tend to find myself playing bass for goth bands, but listening to country music on the way to gigs... while driving in my truck adorned with a triple-aspect sticker next to my NRA sticker. Yes, I AM a walking contradiction. It's who I am, and I'm damn good at it. :)

I refuse to argue, but I LOVE a good debate. I truly believe that I can learn something positive from everyone I come in contact with. I walk my path with confidence in what I know, and the knowledge that I still have much to learn.

Favorite Books: I am a very diverse reader. Here are a few authors I can't get enough of: A.J. Drew, Aleister Crowley, Harry Turtledove, Stephen King, Neil Gaimen, Patrick McManus, Stephen Hawking, etc... My all-time favorite fiction novel is "Battlefield Earth" by L. Ron Hubbard.

Beliefs / Practices: Pagan, Witch, Wiccan, Shaman, Native American Spirituality

Hobbies: Cooking. Music. Anything outdoors: hunting, camping, mountain climbing, etc...

Heroes: Theodore Roosevelt, Ted Nugent, John Williams, Russell Means, Abraham Lincoln, Alexander the Great, Alton Brown

Likes: My favorite thing in the universe is hearing my kids' laughter.

Dislikes: Closed minded hatred is something I will not tolerate.

Episode 1 - Here we go!!!

In this first episode of "The Modern Musings of a Cultured Barbarian" I introduce myself and give a small taste of who I am. I also discovered that speaking into microphone is more intimidating than I thought it would be. Having a sore throat didn't help, but I was determined to get this ball rolling.

Update...

Episode #1 is now scheduled to hit the internet on Leap-Day!!! Currently, the theme/bumper music is being written and recorded. I have a spiral notebook that is rapid filling up with topics, ideas, and one-liners for the show. I am just waiting for the new microphone to arrive before I get cracking on the meat of this whole venture. As soon as they are ready, I will be sending promo clips out to everyone who has already requested one, and to those who would like one.
