Getting started

I posted this on the main discussion and didn't get much. Was hoping you guys could maybe give me some tips.Does anyone know any cheap ways to get started making your own soap and shampoo? I've found some methods online, but am on a tight budget and can't afford the ingredients they call for at the moment. There may not be any other effective ways, but I know there are a lot of very crafty people here, so I thought I'd ask anyway. Any advice will be much appreciated. :)See More

Relationship Status:: Married

Age: 26

Astrological Sign: Libra

About Me:: Well, I'm 26, married, and a full time student. I'm currently working on my associates in Human Services, but hope to transfer soon and start working towards a masters in Social Work. From there I can pretty much choose any sub-field of social work that I want. I'm thinking drug and alcohol counseling now, but having my masters will give me tons of options.

I don't have much of a social life, but I like what I do have. My husband and I do pretty much everything together. He's my best friend and I couldn't have dreamed up a better soul mate. :)

Not much more to tell about me really. I like too many things to list in this little box, and am a self described walking contradiction. My life isn't always hugs and puppies, but we work things out piece by piece, and I know I have a good life.

Favorite Books: Black Jewel series by Anne Bishop, Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown... Many more that I can't think of at the moment.

Beliefs / Practices: Occultist, Spiritual but not Religious

Other Beliefs/Practices: I would describe myself as an agnostic, but I do believe in metaphysics, specifically gemstone healing. That is the only specific practice I have, although I do study many other things, and believe anything is possible. It should be noted that I grew up Christian, and some old habits do die hard. I no longer believe in what I was taught, but I do catch myself praying to something I don't think is there on occasion.

Hobbies: Watching movies, reading, geocaching, learning about random things that strike my fancy. My husband and I also basically collect collections. Everything from movies to knives, but not like on that show Hoarders... We have small collections of small things in our even smaller apartment.

Heroes: My husband, first and foremost. My dad. Maynard James Keenan.
