Other Beliefs/Practices
My other half is a non-practicing Catholic, so I try to incorporate that into our family teachings as well as other tidbits. We encourage our children to define their own faith. We attend a UU church at times, where there is a good amount of Pagans. I am still in study mode, although I am getting more confident and look forward to ritual.
Hobbies
Cooking and baking. I am getting ready to start my first real garden. I like working with my hands--crafts, DIY projects, a teensy tiny bit of tinkering on my car. Reading. Movies. Some video & computer games--I stick to mini games, but I also like WOW.

I have only used them a handful of times, but I think I will build up to a daily practice. Especially after last night's reading.

I have been having trouble with work lately. My hours have been cut, and I don't make… Continue

Lammas + Struan Bread = Happy Me

Posted on August 3, 2010 at 12:14pm 2 Comments

I'm a baker, so Lammas is pretty important to me. I baked Struan bread, which is a Scottish harvest bread that has been linked to the sabbat. You can check out my blog for more info: fuinaround.blogspot.com. I had a great time kneading away my worries and stress.

You can't tell people what to do!

It bothers me to no end when beginners are all vulnerable then a know-it-all bullshitter gives them specific rituals or chants. Give suggestions. Be specific as to why you chose that tool, that wording. Encourage finding their own way. I know a lot of people want to stick to the old ways, stick to tradition. That's great, too. I admire and respect those people. I'm talking about those who read something in one book, believe it without any further research or thought, then pass along their… Continue
