The origin of our sexual and violent tendencies was not the topic of analysis, if I was to include it I would have stated that they obviously originated from biological and instinctual imperatives. However this was a fact so obvious I didn’t think it needed to be stated at all.
The point of the blog was to analyze the origins of a specific trend in western culture, the trend being a contrast in our reactions to Violence and Sex.
The reason I focused on the Abrahamic religions is that they have paradoxically been the origin of this trend in western culture, despite their own religious texts featuring both Sex and Violence in equal measures.
They have clearly not been the originator of Violent or Sexual tendencies, these things being rooted in biology.
Again this blog was focused on a particular trend in contrasting reactions to Violence and Sexuality, NOT the origin of Violence or Sexuality itself.
