Mist in the little valley at the end of my street

I can't believe how this year has flown by......We have FINALLY settled into our new home, unpacking the last few boxes today, November 1st. The boys are loving school and making lots of new friends. I have missed being here on PS and will definitely be making time to get here on a daily basis again.....at least until Spring gets here.......I have such a big yard to have fun in now!!!!!!

I have been on the Witch's path for a number of years now. I am not Wiccan but follow a path that is more hedgewitch with some Celtic aspects thrown in. I generally tend to follow my instincts and let the Goddess guide me. Brighid has always been my guide and inspiration from the start. Cerridwen calls to the hedgewitch in me and of late Hecate has been watchful. Appropriate as I am at a crossroads in my life, so to speak.

I am the mother of 2 boys. Working on the divorce as we speak, the best decision I ever made, yippee! It is improving, but gods the ex is slow, lol. I love my 2 two sons and they are my reason for being and continuing to walk this earth. I love to garden, grow herbs and all sorts of flowers and vegetables. I prefer outdoors to inside, unless it is freezing and then I prefer a hot fire, comfy chair, a good book and some good hot chocolate. A nice man in there would be okay, but he's just a fantasy. I am a very passionate, loving woman and I'll just say that I am not here to find a man but, ah loves, it would be nice to find a like-minded man to love me for who I am. Any knights in shining armor out there, kind of partial to knights.....see I have been told I'm trouble and always need rescuing....LOL. Not to mention I have read at least one too many romance novels...grin.

I am a nurse and have been one for many years. Currently I am working as a home health nurse for a wonderful company......I have been blessed to find such great people to work with. Pretty interesting on most days since most of them are very Christian.....I wear my pentacle and no one ever questions me about it or seems to mind. Funny, most of my elderly patients think my ring and necklace are the Eastern Star symbols for the women of the Masons.

Favorite Books

Too many to list. Paranormal anything just about. Some Fantasy, Crime Thrillers. Not much into Sci-fi books, but movies...oh yes!

Metaphysically I like Anne Moura and her Greencraft Books; John Michael Greer and anything related to Druidry, ancient ways not neo. I have an excellent book on Kitchen Witchery by Marilyn F. Daniel that I love and one by Dorothy Morrison on Everyday Magick.

***At the request of a friend I just started reading the "Anastasia" series of books by Vladimir Megre. They can be found at www.ringingcedars.com. The stories are said to be true and in reading this first book, which I haven't finished yet, I feel a peace come over me when Anastasia speaks of the earth and how it can be healed. I am looking forward to the next one....smile

Other Beliefs/Practices

Currently I am practicing staying out of trouble, lol. Somedays I manage that and others......well......smile....just ask Jamie.

I believe in the goodness of nature and that if we really work with the earth we will eventually heal all of the ills of this planet. We have everything we need within ourselves and the earth, it is just getting others to believe in that purpose. Sounds a bit corny considering all the "crap" going on in this world today. Alas, we humans have to learn things the hard way though, it seems.

I am a peaceful person for the most part...smile. Unless riled about my kids, either at them or for them. The temper occasionally shows, the red hair is real after all, Scots-Irish blood.

I believe that in life we do get back what we put out. I, too, have found that out the hard way and I am striving with all my heart to change that and right any wrongs that I have done in my past. We may not be able to undo the things that we have done, but I do believe that we can atone for them if our heart and intent is pure. Life throws things at us simple humans that we aren't always equipped to handle. We make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. In a sense, my life is starting over again in a new time and a new place. I want all of it to have a a positive energy and flow with the grace of the Goddess. May she bless me with the courage that I need to move forward.

Hobbies

Gardening - I grow herbs for my own use and to sell and trade; reading, I am a voracious reader; love movies - old and new - just saw the new Star Trek and wanted to sit through it a couple more times at least....LOL. Always looking for something new to get into. Listening to music, from classical to rock to new age. Playing on my computer. I do some craftwork that I never seem to have enough time for lately - beading, woodburning, painting.

Heroes

Really, my boys are my heroes now, they have shown me that I can and will do anything for them. They have courage and resilience that most of us can only dream about. They have encouraged me and hugged me when I have felt down and discouraged and reminded me what life is all about.

As for anyone else, this person still doesn't have a name....

There can be only one.....grin. I am still looking for my Highlander or any man with knightly qualities, a wicked sense of humor and a genuine, heartfelt desire for a lasting, loving and passionate friendship and partnership, not just relationship....probably a fantasy, but what can I say? If only my best friend would take on the task of life with me....sigh.....he is such a stubborn Scot. But alas, he says I am trouble enough at a distance.....and I couldn't put up with him either in close quarters......what a pair....LOL.

Likes

I like positive people, smiles and good times, laughter and a wicked sense of humor. I like honest, good natured, gentle people. Dogs, cats. Being creative. Having fun just for the sake of having fun. Walks in the wood with my boys collecting little things from nature and talking about all things possible. Bonfires on cold nights. Open air concerts and walks in the woods. Walks on the beach after a good storm. Snuggling up with the right person and watching a movie. Making new friends and learning, learning, learning!

Dislikes
