- I am fairly new to Paganism. Like so many, I was brought up in a strict Christian home and never really had a problem with the Christian church until I got married and my husband (who also grew up in the church) started pointing out some things that he just could not accept. After TONS of thought and much guilt (that I have finally got over), I decided that I wanted a path that was an "original". It's not that I feel that other religions are not valid; I believe that every religion and faith is valid, however, I wanted to know what people practiced before Christianity, Wicca, and Islam (to name just a few). It's not that I really set out to call myself anything imparticular, I just started examining what I personally believed in and it just so happened that my beliefs lined up with Paganism more than anything else. I am also (slowly) becoming a witch. I do not have a teacher at this time, but I would love to have one. My husband does not consider himself a Pagan but he is also no longer part of the Christian church. He does not feel the need to belong to anyting. Good for him. However, I am here so that I can learn and connect with other like-minded people about something that I am passionate about.

The Hermit points to all things hidden, such as knowledge and inspiration,hidden enemies. The illumination is from within, and retirement from participation in current events.
The Hermit is a card of introspection, analysis and, well, virginity. You do not desire to socialize; the card indicates, instead, a desire for peace and solitude. You prefer to take the time to think, organize, ruminate, take stock. There may be feelings of frustration and discontent but these feelings eventually lead to enlightenment, illumination, clarity.
The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing.
