Just a quick message to wish everyone here a Happy Esabat this evening! If you've got anything special planned (small or large) please feel free to share it here. Personally I'm just doing a little basic meditation as we're about to leave the hou...

I have mentioned in the past that I like to explore other religions. My friends are aware of this, and one in particular is always sure to pass along new potential paths to explore. Today she told me that she had met a man who claimed to be a "Gre...

Astrological Sign
Aries and/or Tiger
About Me:
I fit the definition of both Aries and the Tiger pretty well, but if you want a more psychological analysis look up the ENFP personality type from the Myers-Briggs personality test.

Other then that, I'm a full time Student at Eastern Washington University. I work part time as a Home Health Care Provider, and do as much Freelance Writing on the side as time and energy permits me.

I really want to Freelance Write full time after I graduate. My degree is geared towards this goal, as I am pursuing Interdisciplinary Studies (basically a build-your-own-degree program) in which I have combined English - mostly technical writing, with Business - mostly marketing. I know it's confusing, but basically I'm a writer that couldn't figure out what to major in.

I am eclectic to the point that I will borrow from any and all paths (religious, spiritual, philosophical, etc.). I may look like a religion hopper, but really what I am doing is learning. I want to gather as much information and experience about the religious side of life as possible, so that I will have a well rounded view point of the world, and a greater understanding of that underlying spiritual yearning that is within the general human population. On a purely practical level, this means that if it resonates with me I adopt it into my practice. Period.

I love discussion with thoughtful and open minded individuals. I believe that challenging myself on all levels is the healthiest and best way for me to truly grow and develop. As such I will try never to shy away from a serious or thought provoking topic.

I am currently going through a divorce, but no I'm not sad about it. This is a necessary change and I find myself already benefiting from it. I am also just beginning a relationship with someone new, who is quit wonderful. This cuts my once large family down a lot though, and all I have left of the original group is my cat Crow.

I also have a brother, in the Navy who will spend the coming year in Afghanistan. We've always been close, so being so far apart now is sometimes difficult, especially now with him headed someplace so dangerous. But at least I will get to see him once more around the Solstice.

You are The Wheel of Fortune

Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of intoxication with success

The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

Other Beliefs/Practices
You might call me a spiritual wanderer, but it's not that i don't have any set beliefs, more that my beliefs are open enough that i can embrace my curiosity. Ultimately though my base line beliefs best fit into a general Pagan scope.
Hobbies
Studying different cultures, religions, and philosophies.
Also: drawing, reading, writing, sometimes painting, photography, i play the guitar but not nearly as much as I'd like to, and i tend to be the go to person for all my friends when they need someone to bitch too or a shoulder to cry on. I like studying herbs and making salves as well, and used to collect crystals and rocks.

Exploring Hinduism

"Truth is One, but the sages speak of it by many names"
- The Rig Veda

I love this quote, as it is very near to my own theories when it comes to the many religions of the world. It is as if we are all looking for the truth, but each of us can only see one small element of the big picture. And so we have a thousand and one interpretations of that truth, but really, it is in their overlap where we may glimpse the truth.

As a result of this theory, I have spent the last 7 years of my life jumpin… Continue

Chritian Bashing

I think part of the reason we see a pattern of Christian Bashing (if I may title it such), is that a lot of us do have negative experiences with individuals of, or even whole groups/churches, who count themselves among the Christian faith. Still more of us may be coming from a background in the faith (either our own previous involvement or mere family connections). In either case, it is part of our severance from these past relations and to that extent perhaps normal and even necessary.

However… Continue

Wandering

Hello all,

I just wanted to drop a little line here to apologize for my long absence and to catch you all up a bit on where I've been.

Life is still pretty crazy right now, so this is by no means a conclusion to the story, but let's just get you all up to speed a bit here.

I took some time off from school, and I'm not sure exactly when I'll be going back. I'm thinking I might try to re-tackle things this fall, but nothing is finalized yet. For now I'm living with my boyfriend in LA, and have… Continue

Holy Water - My Recipe

Ingredients:

water - your choice of rain, lake/river, tap, etc. and you can always mix them.

representation of deity - optional

wand/atheme - or you can just use your finger(s)

candle(s) - look up color associations, or just think about what the colors mean to you; doubles a… Continue

My Element

Before I even took this test I'd given this some thought and come to the conclusion that I was best aligned with the element of air. But I figured, just for fun, I'd see what the quiz came up with. Guess what I got? AIR!

Hahaha! Then it seems we have MUCH in common. I'm a notorious over-thinker. Or so I've been told. I can't help the fact my brain has no off switch. Not my fault!
Sorry it's take me a while to reply,I just started class this week and my work has decided to give me extra hours as well! -sigh-
