Age

Astrological Sign
Aries; year of the (fire) tiger
About Me:
I fit the definition of both Aries and the Tiger pretty well, but if you want a more psychological analysis look up the ENFP personality type from the Myers-Briggs personality test.

Other then that, I recently graduated from EWU with my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (dual emphasis in English and Marketing). Right now I'm just trying to make it as a writer in the Seattle area.

I love discussion with thoughtful and open minded individuals. I believe that challenging myself on all levels is the healthiest and best way for me to truly grow and develop. As such I will try never to shy away from a serious or thought provoking topic. This is part of the reason I consider myself an eclectic. I want to find the truths buried beneath the stories and routines we've all been beaten over the head with. I want to challenge myself and others to find themselves and learn from others. That is my purpose in this life.

You are The Tower

Ambition, fighting, war, courage. Destruction, danger, fall, ruin.

The Tower represents war, destruction, but also spiritual renewal. Plans are disrupted. Your views and ideas will change as a result.

The Tower is a card about war, a war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth. The Tower stands for "false concepts and institutions that we take for real." You have been shaken up; blinded by a shocking revelation. It sometimes takes that to see a truth that one refuses to see. Or to bring down beliefs that are so well constructed. What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built.

Favorite Books
E=MC2, anything by Charles Dickens, the Earth Path by Starhawk, Soulcraft by Bill Plotkin, for fiction I like Sherman Alexie's books, and I'm currently enjoying 'The Red Book' by Sera Beak. I'll add more as I think of them.
Beliefs / Practices
Pagan, Other Spirituality
Other Beliefs/Practices
I am highly eclectic which basically means that if it resonates with me I adopt it into my practice. I mean no disrespect to the religions I borrow from, but I want to gather as much information and experience as many different paths as possible so I can develop a well rounded view point of the world, and a greater understanding of that underlying spiritual yearning of the human heart. If nothing else, I hope it will help me better appreciate the differences between paths.
When you get right down to it though, most of my beliefs fit the pagan mold, so I've settled on saying I'm an eclectic pagan.
Hobbies
Studying different cultures, languages, religions, psychology, and philosophy.
And in no particular order: drawing and sometimes painting, reading, writing, photography, playing the guitar, star gazing. I like studying and growing herbs and making salves or tinctures as well, and collect crystals and rocks.
Heroes
Daria, Church and Tex (from the show Red vs. Blue), Mark Twain, Martin Luther King Jr., and J.K. Rowling because she did what few of us writers ever manage... got rich off her books and lived to see her own fame.
How did you find PaganSpace?
Heard of Pagan Space via a couple different Pagan Podcasts I listen to, one of which being A Pagan Heart in Maine.

Prayer

Posted on September 20, 2011 at 11:00pm 2 Comments

How many ways can you pray? That depends on your definition of prayer I suppose. For me, prayer is simply communication with the divine. In that case, any form of spiritual expression is a means of connecting with and communicating with the divine and thus prayer. This includes not only kneeling down and calling on a given deity for aid or blessing but also meditation and any magickal working.

"If one does not consider the Divine,

magick would not be prayer, but if…

Solitary

Posted on June 26, 2010 at 11:30pm 0 Comments

So I've been a solitary practitioner all 8 years I've been on this path. I've met other pagans online, such as here on paganspace, but never been to a group or shared a ritual with anyone. My spirituality has been solely mine this entire time. The closest I've come is by taking part in other religions, but this really wasn't the same. Sure I've found welcoming communities and enjoyed learning about their faith, but it wasn't really mine so it wasn't really real. I always felt like I was hiding… Continue

Exploring Hinduism

"Truth is One, but the sages speak of it by many names"

- The Rig Veda

I love this quote, as it is very near to my own theories when it comes to the many religions of the world. It is as if we are all looking for the truth, but each of us can only see one small element of the big picture. And so we have a thousand and one interpretations of that truth, but really, it is in their overlap where we may glimpse the truth.

As a result of this theory, I have spent the… Continue

Chritian Bashing

Posted on August 11, 2009 at 1:28am 6 Comments

I think part of the reason we see a pattern of Christian Bashing (if I may title it such), is that a lot of us do have negative experiences with individuals of, or even whole groups/churches, who count themselves among the Christian faith. Still more of us may be coming from a background in the faith (either our own previous involvement or mere family connections). In either case, it is part of our severance from these past relations and to that extent perhaps normal and even… Continue

Wandering

Hello all,

I just wanted to drop a little line here to apologize for my long absence and to catch you all up a bit on where I've been.

Life is still pretty crazy right now, so this is by no means a conclusion to the story, but let's just get you all up to speed a bit here.

I took some time off from school, and I'm not sure exactly when I'll be going back. I'm thinking I might try to re-tackle things this fall, but nothing is finalized yet. For now I'm living… Continue

I don't mind long comments. However, it's been so long I've kind of forgotten what we were specifically talking about.
I was reading an article on Yahoo News contrasting city life with country life, and someone commented and said something like "there's lot's of apes in the city. They're fun to watch, but pretty dangerous." Made me smile. Thought I would share.
I am now in the process of finding a new place to live as well. My boyfriend and I are torn between moving into a place with the same people we're living with or moving out on our own for the first time.
Have you cove to any conclusions on where you want to live?

I've actually been thinking seriously about moving out of the place I'm living, and I've come to realize that I quite like it here. It's comfortable, and it's home. My family has been in this area for a long time, as well as my boyfriend's family. I feel a pull to the place of my origin. (though don't we all, in some way or another, whatever that origin might be?)

It is certainly not hard to get back into nature around here. It's very green. :-) My boyfriend and I go camping by the Nisqually River all the time. It's breathtaking!
Tacoma is actually pretty nice if you stay out of the shadier neighborhoods. They're cleaning up downtown. I think of it as kind of a mini-seattle. Rent around here seems to be some of the lowest I've seen as well, though the lower you pay in rent, the lower quality of neighborhood, if you know what I mean.
I've always thought people in Redmond drove poorly. I never would have thought it's from the population of Indians. I find that rather amusing, actually.

Ah! I've probably passed through there on my trips to/through/past Spokane. I've taking a liking to the small towns on that side of the mountains. From my experience in Redmond (spent about six months there) the people are pretty, well, fake I guess. I spoke to someone from Florida who moved here and they said everyone was pretty rude in comparason. Seattle is amazing. A wide variety of culture. Tacoma's improving their cultural scene as well. I want to move somewhere more rural though. So tired of city life.

Where in Washington is Cheney? Aren't we blessed to live in such a state? I've been in Washington my entire life, and am always ever more grateful of the natural beauty in this region.
