just your average joe-pagan looking to find cool things to do and cool folks to do them with. interests include music (i drum and play the viola), rollerblading, participating in ritual, cyber-geekery (but not the creepy kind...), and i dabble with martial arts, reiki, and yoga. i'm a haiku black belt, an excellent listener, and a loyal friend. i'm trustworthy and honest, and i work my ass off (but inside my head i'm laaaaazzzzy).

on the other hand, sometimes i get moody and temperamental. i'm addicted to chinese buffet and reeses pieces (but not together... that's just gross). and i can't parallel park to save my life. i'm too smart for my own damn good, but too dumb to be really dangerous. i have the strange feeling that next time around i'll be reincarnating as a tumbleweed...

i haven't yet set myself on fire while spinning poi, but i have whacked myself in the nuts with spinning tennis balls... i don't drink and drum (had to learn that the hard way). my drug of choice is caffeine. i lost a hundred pounds on weight watchers, then i gained it all back with a bonus thirty. now i'm losing it again (52 down...)

i believe that people are basically good, that we're meant to be happy, that universal health care is a RIGHT, that the egg came first, that black is the new black, that science and faith are not mutually exclusive, that karma is the ultimate regulatory force, that personal relationships with the godhead do not require intermediaries, that magick is real, prayer is power, and right actions must be backed by right intentions.

but i can be cynical and sarcastic... i sometimes have a low tolerance for ignorance, so take everything with a grain of sea-salt. your mileage may vary, and batteries are not included.

Hobbies

in no particular order... taekwondo, rollerblading, yoga, drumming, viola-ing, reading good books, avoiding bad books, participating in ritual, writing snarky haiku, writing semi-serious haiku, eating chinese buffet, making fun of snobbery, hanging out with snobs (coffee-snobs, restaurant-snobs, wine-and-chocolate snobs... the good snobs, not the mean-spirited ones...), playing with 'puters, going ape-shit when they don't work right,

chinese buffet... dude, seriously. well-written and polished rituals, drum circles, watching belly dancers and fire spinners, the beach, spending gobs of money on stuff i don't need, thoughtful and polite people, intelligent conversations, really cheesy horror flicks, strawberries, online video games (but not obsessively), doing a good job, internet porn, fresh roasted coffee beans, early seasons of south park, classical music, reeses pieces

Dislikes

broccoli, fucking up, traffic tickets, forgetting my lines in ritual, republican ideology, people who drink excessively or over-partake on 'chemical-refreshment', cell phones, latter seasons of south park, customers, malfunctioning computers, people who see the world only in black and white, people who can't admit that sometimes the world really IS black and white,

finally...

... a day of good, autumn weather in central florida! for the past few weeks we've been suffering through high 80's low 90's with 120% humidity. but today was a beautiful sunny day upper 60's low 70's with a brisk evening in the 50's.

a respite from the ppd insanity...

whew! three pagan pride day festivals in as many weeks. bam, bam, bam... jacksonville, volusia, st. johns. my ass is worn the hell out. all three were somewhat smaller then expected this year, which was both bad and good. bad in that the more folks that show up, the better the vendors do; but good in that the overall feeling was more intimate, homey, and like a really huge party with all your friends you haven't seen in forever.
