She sat in the gloom of a night café
Lighting up for the millionth time
Oh how that smile would always betray
The pain of the passionate crimes.
He sat in the murk of an old dead bar
Lifting the glass for the millionth time
If only that beauty didn’t get so… Continue

Well, In keeping with my previous blog I wanted to share with everyone one of the ways I care for Gaia. I have changed over grass in my front yard in front of the house and taken out the shrubs and planted Azalea and Gardenia bushes in the front. Then I added in my herbs and filled in quite a large area. I took the downspouts from the gutters and placed the slit tubing on them and ran them under the dirt I added as I built the garden up from the lawn level. This allows for watering the area… Continue

Each of us is one. We occupy one space on our planet, with many others who are also one. Each one has their own thoughts, path, direction, but yet, in concert with other ones, we comprise the humanity which lives on a beautiful blue and green globe spinning in the one universe which is our home.
And yet, to think of ourselves as one indicates, perhaps, a lack of understanding that the one impacts the many which, in turn, impacts the one.
The Wombat -- the video… Continue

You know Pagan Space has over 2000 members now...thats awesome. When I joined I was like number 870 or something like that, not too long ago either. I joined a few groups and have been making new friends, I hope, and am sad though to see that the ONE group that I feel should have most importance to us all and be one of the larger populated groups is sadly one with fewer numbers. Thats right people, Caring for Mother Earth has only recently reached 35 members. That is so sad and makes me… Continue

Its freezing here in Michigan. We're all waiting for the approaching snow storm. They tell us we'll get about 5 inches but I'm skeptical. They always say you're going to get hit with alot of snow and I look out in the morning to either nothing or a dusting. It's disappointing. But that's Michigan for ya. Never know what your gonna get.
Even though we're in the midst of a mercury retrograde, I'm having a good week so far. I'm been kinda sittin' and watching all the miscommunication… Continue

I was listening to a certain podcast the other day from this young woman who made a statement that got me thinking. Mind you, I'm paraphrasing, but she said that she believed that solitary pagan practitioners needed teachers. Spending nearly 22 years on my path, I never really thought about a teacher. I had friends who were on the path and we learned from each other and books. If we had a question, we looked it up in a book. Truthfully, Scott Cunningham ended up being the defacto source.… Continue

I decided that I might do a blog to say "Hi" and tell you a bit about myself.
Aileen Fairycat, is a take on a pendant I received many, many moons ago, at some point I knew I wanted it as a tattoo and a design was created based on the pendant, a fox and my dear Kitty Nicholas, this was done approx 14 years ago. Aileen is my middle name and is Celtic for Light. When I became more active in the pagan community it felt like a good fit.
I started my journey quite young when I… Continue

"As I woke up from a dream, I felt an eerie feeling like I was floating; I seemed to be outside of myself. I turned around and saw myself standing over my stone and straw bed and was surprised to see myself sleeping peacefully. I had been a conjurer and wizard for many years and had transformed myself many times while in the state of euphoria but it was I who always had control and… Continue

I am so sorry I have not been able to get to everyones page like I would like to. Sometimes, there's just not enough hours in the day to tell you how much I appreciate you, how special you all are and how honored I am to be surrounded by the best people one could be blessed to know.
Recently, I've been a bit down but today is a new day and the sun is even shining here in Wintry Michigan. I needed the suns energy and bright beauty this week, so my wishes were granted… Continue

So many words you have learned,
so many you have spoken.
You know everything,
but you do not know yourself.
For the self is not known through words,
only direct insight will reveal it.
Look within, search within.…

My husband gave me the highest compliment about my faith I have ever heard last night - he said that I am very good at keeping a balance between my scientific side and my spiritual side.
To quote: "You don't let your love of science take away from the Mystery, and you don't let the Mystery diminish the science."
I love my little agnostic. heh.
I'm compiling a nice assemblage of information on Dionysos for my D. group - The Amphora - it's about 1/3 done.

I'm going to keep this short because if you know anyone form, or are yourself from Oklahoma, you already have guessed what this is about.
I know there are places that are just as bad as here when it comes to the chaotic change the weather can take. But I don't live there. I live here. The place that Loci seems to be in control of the climates mood swings. This morning at midnight it was a balmy 45oF and by the time I left work at 0900 It was below freezing and snowing. Ya, It sucks.… Continue

Imbolc means, literally, "in the belly". For in the womb of Mother Earth, hidden from our mundane sight but sensed by a keener vision, there are stirrings. The seed that was planted in her womb at the solstice is quickening and grows. Imbolc is the festival of the Maiden, for from this day to March 21st, it is her season to prepare for growth and renewal. This sabbat celebrates the first evidence of the return of life. The Sun is slowly starting to make its return and the very hardiest of… Continue

Each year on or around this date, a sacred festival is held in the
Katmandu Valley of Nepal in honor of the goddess Sarasvati, an ancient
Indian deity who presides over all forms of education. As temples
dedicated to her, offerings of food, flowers, and incense are made by
faithful Hindus and students who seek her help on their school exams.
In the courtyard of the Hanuman Dhoka, an ancient palace where the king
is accompanied on this day by Nepalese officials, the… Continue

Looking At What We Don’t Want To See
It is one of life's great paradoxes that the things we don't want to look at in ourselves are the very things we need to look at in order to know ourselves better and to become more fully who we are. The feelings that make us want to run away are buried treasure full of energy and inspiration if we are willing to look. These feelings come in many forms, from strange images or snippets of information to recurring dreams and feelings that rise… Continue
