I was initiated in the Draconic Path several months ago, and let me tell ya.....It's not easy! I have been a Kitchen Witch for close to 15 years before that. So, I've had to change not only how I practice, but also what Gods/Goddesses I use. Before, it was easy to figure out which one to use for what spell or whatever, now it's as though I have to turn away from what I understand and love, to something I'm "reaching" for.
Now, before you start thinking that I don't enjoy the path I'm…

Imbolc - February 2nd
Winter fights valiantly to hold the land. The crisp snows of January have turned to storms of sleet, and the Earth and the sky are gray, leaden, and heavy with the cold. But here and there, scattered like jewels in the sodden grass and the frozen garden, the first slender tips of daffodils start up toward the pale, growing Sun, and something in us stirs as well, as life…

Imbolc
Imbolc
SPECIAL NOTES: February 2nd is halfway between the Winter Sabbat of Yule and the Spring Sabbat of Ostara, so it is one of the celebrations referred to as "the cross quarters". Actually it is called by a lot of different names, and that can be confusing. You might know it as Imbolc, Imbolg or Oimelc. Some books say this refers to the Gaelic term for "ewe's milk." Spring was right…

This season belongs to Brigid
This season belongs to Brigid, the Celtic goddess who in later times became revered as a Christian saint. Originally, her festival on February 1 was known as Imbolc or Oimelc, two names which refer to the lactation of the ewes, the flow of milk that heralds the return of the life-giving forces of spring. Later, the Catholic Church replaced this festival…

Well, today I get unplugged from my latest chemo treatment. That makes 7 so far—only 5 more to go! I’ll finally be done with all this in early April.
Each time the cumulative side-effects seem to become a bit more extreme. This week my fingers are so sensitive and numb that I can barely stand to touch anything cool, or rinse my hands under running water, or even type (I have to keep going back and correcting typos as I write). I cannot even drink cold water without my throat…

Pagan Politics: A Primer for Successfully Contacting and Engaging Your Elected Officials
People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote - a very different thing. ~Walter H. Judd, MD and Congressman
It is every American’s right to make their opinion known to their elected officials. Unfortunately, it is the manner in which…

more than the color she sees as she peers
close to the center she whirls
drawn by the texture created in her mind
blanking out everything else
focusing inward she travels beyond
finding her freedom at last
moving more slowly as weariness takes her
coming to rest at a point
peaceful, contented, her breath flows quite free
her body relaxes a bit
eyes glazed o'er with longing she swallows the… Continue

Let me just get this out of the way: I have brain damage. It affects mostly my memory and coordination, which means I spend a lot of time standing in the middle of rooms, saying to my self, "What did I come in here for? Or was I already in here and headed somewhere else?" It also means I can't connect names with faces, don't remember dates, etc. Pretty much anything I want to remember for any length of time has to be written down so I can refer to it frequently. This makes some rituals and…

The Power and Influence of the Human Mind by: Mike j Hughes
Few people today are not realizing the fact that their minds can be very powerful at times and can cause much destruction if not handled rightly. We are now in the mid way through the fifth root race and the goal for all humanity at this time is the development of the mental body just as during the Atlantean root race the goal was the perfecting of the astral-emotional body which took some 12 millions of…

Okay, so the past two weeks I have been feeling rather melacholy and detached. And why? Because I hadn't had my period yet. So being the paranoid person I am, I freaked out. Long story short, I was suppose to get together with my potential baby daddy this week to go get a pregnancy test. He kept canceling on me for various reasons (one major reason being his father ended up in the hospital) and yesterday he became really ill with the stomach flu so that was a no go either. Low and behold, this…

Walking The Red Road – January 30
I was born in Nature’s wide domain.!
The trees were all that sheltered my infant limbs, the blue heavens all that covered me. I am one
of Nature’s children. I have always admired her.

Ojibway Chief, 1818- 1863
Did you know?
Before the Europeans arrived in the Americas, more than 500 tribes (a collective group of 22
million people) inhabited what is now the United States.
