If the work is worthwhile

If the work is worthwhile

If the work is worthwhile, then whether we can complete it or not, it's worth making the attempt. That's why courage is important

An observation

Ok to simplify the story I'm sparing names and dates but it happened with a young teen in Pennsylvania recently that landed himself on a respirator after smoking what was until then a legal herbal blend of damiana. Now I myself do not get entangled in news at all but, I live and work and always hear the stories told repeatedly by family coworkers acquaintances and the large amounts of customers I encounter at work and all I heard everyone say was how terrible the herbal blend is and how it's… Continue

I sleep in a blanket of lonliness. I wake feeling despair. I reach for you, your not there. I dream of us under the stars. If I'm stinking of you, are you thinking of me? One day I hope we are together, just you and me. Your smile I miss, the flavor of your kiss. I remember your embrace and the way you taste. I know I will not be blue, because indeed I will have you......

Even in Ireland, Faeries May Live Here but its My Forte - I'll Dig if I Want to. Or, not...

This is another, older, transfer from my own blog ( I hope someone will find it amusing and let me know what they think.

All I wanted to do was brighten the old forte up a bit. The forte is an ancient mound, possibly a burial mound or the remains of prehistoric community forming part of the hedge in my garden here in Ireland. Trees have evolved on top of the mound and I admit it does have a certain grandeur. It also looks gaunt and barren. The…

Communication and Language Use

One of the most significant social differences between Wicca and Ásatrú is their use of language and the way they communicate. More conflict between the two communities can be traced to this than any other factor. Wiccans tend to speak in a very conditional manner, often using the passive voice. The general mode of communication is quiet, cooperative, and seeks consensus, which parallels the Wiccan worldview of an orderly and harmonic…

A Little Time Goes by, yet There is Still More to Come...

We measure time in accordance to how we perceive time. There is the past, the present and the future, all aspects of time that we use as categories in which to define our lives.  The moments of importance or some emotional significance is often remembered with a certain day, date and time.

  Personally, I find time too…

Demoralization 101

"If I wished to give an unscrupulous ruler a theory for building a race of unscrupulous machine-men, men without mercy or gentleness, I would tell him to allow children to hear nothing but lofty and noble sentiments all through their childhood. And then I would tell him to let these children see the world as it is."

I must be honest, I do not have close friends. I have my sweetie and he is truly my best friend. He knows me inside and out and gets me. But as a woman, I do crave companship from other women. Only women can understand how it feels to be female. As much as my sweetie loves me, he doesn't get the emotional roller coaster ride women sometimes get buckled into. There is something amazingly wonderful about the friendship between women. The giggles or full-throaty laughter if you prefer, the knowing… Continue

Ireland - A Fairy Wind in the Mountains

Here's one I wrote on my own blog  I put it on the Writers Circle and here in an effort to get some critical feedback.  Do please let me know what you think.

Its a funny old world right enough.

Saturday morning drizzle its like trying to see the picture through the mist.

The mountains close in, streams become white horses foaming over rocks and the still air glistens in the light. Its 11 o'clock, the morning has almost gone!  The…
