Quotes on the magical path by Dion Fortune

Those who seek an easy path to magic will fail. The road is long and only the dedicated will succeed.

Don’t try and force conversation with the Spirits. Just  keeping your mind. They will find you if and when They want.

Superstition, repression and ignorance are breeding grounds for the most dangerous forms of magic.

There is no…

Divining The Oracle

This week on The Spiral Dance we listen for the words of the Oracle. Alot of things are CALLED oracles; such as tarot or other methods of divination. But the ancient Greeks meant something very specific when they used the word, Oracle. For the Greeks an "oracle" was a human - usually a priestess - through whom a diety, such as Apollo, answered specific questions that have been put forth. Also, the Oracle was the sacred place where this would happen.

So we'll talk in more detail about…

A Samhain Spirit's Blessing!

Of darkened nights and days of mist, through harkened veils of grey,

to wander fore the layered thick and lighten hearts dismayed,

in days that were ancestors spur the strength of hearts do flower,

the days to come to thrill the one now tighten and empower,

now celebrate, invigorate and set new course from strife,

leave all the fast to forlorn past embrace inspiring life,

we honor fine all spirits divine that gave us inspiration,

for now we…

To  the Abonsam from the village or home and to cleanse the area, it was necessary to have four weeks of silence.

During this period, it was hoped that the evil spirits would be frightened away.

This period was then followed by a night of creating noise; thunderous…

Many are misinformed and fearful of acknowledging the Chaotic and Adversarial currents which are crucial to the cycle of Life.

Those who choose to focus on only one aspect of the Web will find themselves eternally stagnant and woefully ignorant of the Wonders of Grey World.

All facets or Strands of the Web are to be acknowledged, all are to be experienced, all are to be honoured.

Below is a thoughtful comment by our own co-Admin and page owner, Shaolin Gui…

We Are the Hedge Riders

"We are the ragged vagabonds, Travellers on the Unknown shores,

Where worlds meet, there we go. Where worlds end, there we fly.

Tonight is the Full Moon, known as the Blood Moon because between now and Samhain/Halloween was the harvest

Tonight is the Full Moon, known as the Blood Moon because between now and Samhain/Halloween was the harvest of flesh, it was the time when the farming community would slaughter cattle and preserve the meat to last through the winter months. Poorer families would use the brightness of this full Moon to go hunting for their meat. So it became known as…

Where eyes don't belong

I had a strange dream last night

that cleared up certain shelves.

That people had a special right

to keep things to themselves.

Like short moments of no light

shared between us two.

You don't need an insight

into what we do.

They're not really crazes

and it's not really wrong,

but there are certain places

where eyes do not belong.

Supposedly there is classified

information to you.

Don't you think it… Continue

The Dark Crooked Path

On our journey we experience highs and lows, the light and the dark. There are times the darkness is so deep we can barely see the light as we hesitate to venture forward, occasionally stumbling and stopping in doubt. The path appears uncertain as we search deep within ourselves to gather all the strength and faith we can muster.

Traditionally the Crooked Path is that of ancient and mystical wisdom, passed down through incarnations and the ancestral line- when we walk down…

The Witch in the Woods

I met a witch in the woods today, realigning herself with nature. The fall leaves hurtled across our path as the wind brushed through the treetops pushing drops of rain on top of the leaved path.

“Sometimes we witches encounter conflicts.” A witch is a witch; no good/evil, white or black magick. Magick is magick- a manifestation against the natural course of events. Witches do not need rituals; their intent is enough to create manifestations. For some the gift of foresight is a curse;…

Let Me Introduce Myself (a poem)

Close your eyes…feel my touch

Dream with me / fly with me / play with me

My name is Lust

I walk through the night

invisible to all

I play with those who seek pleasure

fiilling them with need…

A whisper in their mind..

urging them on..

bringing their hidden desires to the

front of their mind.

It is me that haunts your dreams..

It is me who taunts you with forbidden images..

taboo fantasies..
