A Really Healthy Rant...

I have a new doctor. Not that I'm really sick or anything. In fact, I've only been truly sick twice in the last ten years. And other than the constant battle I've waged with my weight for the last 53 years, I'm probably healthier than anyone I know. So why do I have a new doctor? Because their was a minor glitch with my colon cancer screening, and I couldn't get... For the rest of the story, click here or go to… Continue

Feeling Lucky?

Friday is my lucky day. [I was, after all, born on one.] But because my personal number is “4,” certain Fridays - those with dates that add up to that number; i.e., the 4th, 13th, 22nd and 31st - are luckier for me than others. This has rung true for over five decades with nary a hitch, and I’ve always looked forward to these particular days with great joy and anticipation - for the fact of the matter is that something wondrous and exciting has never failed to come my way with their dawning. Un… Continue

Dixieland...and All That Jazz!

So…what happens when you slap a rebel-related moniker on a dog? You get a rebellious dog, that’s what. But the fact of the matter is that it never occurred to me that Mark would actually... For the rest of the story, click here or check out http://www.dorothymorrison.com/blog. Continue

Way Down Yonder in the Land of...Ohio!

Dixieland - 2nd Installment...

I should've know that things were going to go awry the second I got off the phone with the folks at Happy Labs Rescue. For starters, we had trouble deciding on a meeting place. We discussed this place and that, and after much debate, we finally settled on Columbus, OH. Then I had trouble finding a hotel room for the night - since it was an eight-hour drive, I'd decided to go in a day early - and the search took better than two hours.] But the second

Whose Life is this Anyway?!

For the last ten years or so, I’ve had a good life. A wonderful life. A life that most folks only dream about. It includes Mark - my remarkable husband who cooks and cleans and loves me just the way I am, faults and all. It includes travel to far away places, and lots of interesting people. And with fifteen books and a tarot deck on the market, it also includes a successful writing career. It truly is the stuff that dreams are made of and I couldn’t ask for anything more perfect. Unfortunately,… Continue

Pressing Matters...

Hi, Folks - and a happy, happy New Year to all of you! Lots has happened over the last few weeks - some of it good and some of it not so much - and I'll get to that in detail in the next issue of Yellow Brick Road, as it's due at the end of this month. There are, however, a couple of pressing matters that I'd like to bring to your attention today. First, the good stuff! It seems that Lucinda's Web has been nominated in the Romance Category of the "Preditors and Editors" Readers Poll for… Continue

Holiday Greetings!

Okay, Folks...I know I said I probably wouldn't be chatting with you again until after the holidays, but I simply couldn't resist sending some holiday cheer your way. And that said, I couldn't resist sending some on behalf of M.R. Sellars and Kristin Madden as well. But for Gods' sakes...don't tell them I did this. They've got no earthly idea what's going on! LOL! So without further adieu, I offer you this tiny bi… Continue

Also...for those of you who stopped by only to discover that some things were out of stock - who knew folks would order so much that I'd run out of stuff?! - everything is back in stock and ready to go. ;) I probably won't have anoth… Continue

Sales, Flying Monkeys & Websites! Oh My!

Hi, Folks! Just a quick note to let you know that even though you haven't heard from me lately, I really am still alive and well. I've just been busy. ;) Busy doing what? Well…I've been revamping my website page by page, and am still at it. In fact, I'm learning Paint Shop Pro from the bottom up - and since I'm a writer rather than a graphics designer, I can promise you that's no easy feat! LOL! Still, I'm pretty happy with what's been done so far - okay…I'll admit that I've had some help from… Continue

Sweet Sadie...

Today, I lost my best friend. It's hard to believe she's even gone. But I know she is: I was there when she breathed her last breath. To a large degree, Sadie was the sanity in my life for 14 years. We grew old together, and I loved her more than words can say. In fact, I loved her from the instant our eyes met. They held mischief and sass and a longing for a better life. And I, who was looking for much the same things at the time, simply couldn't resist such unbridled energy . So, I took that… Continue

Flying Monkey Express!

I've been a busy girl. Okay...so I'm always busy. But for the past few days, I've been busier than usual. Why? Well, you of all people, should know. It is, after all, your fault. That's right. It's all your fault. I guess I should explain. You see, I've been getting private messages for the last few weeks asking when the merchandise related to Lucinda's Web is going to be up and ready for purchase. So I took some time to make that happen. And you can check out the related goodies… Continue

!!!!! PAGAN PULSE !!!!!

Just had a chance to read the new Pagan Pulse magazine, and I have to say that it's absolutely terrific! Many, many thanks to all of you who put it together for us. You did a really fabulous job! ;) And...I damned near fell out of my chair with shock - shock that was solely due to sheer and total delight - when I discovered that I'd been chosen as the "featured author." What an honor! I'm positively thrilled, Folks, and it's all I can do to keep from dancing around the room. So...thank you, fro… Continue

Follow the Yellow Brick Road...

Hi, Folks! :) Just a quick note to let you know that the rather late Lammas issue of my newsletter, Yellow Brick Road, went out yesterday. According to the mailing program, all the copies went out. However, the upgraded version of the program no longer sends me confirmations of the groups it's successfully mailed. So…if you're subscribed and didn't get your copy, please let me know. Much love and many hugs! Dorothy... Continue

Where is Dorothy?

Just a quick note to let all of you know that I'm going to be MIA until the middle of August. Some of it has to do with promotional stuff, and the rest of is personal business. The main reason for this note, though, is that due to unforseen circumstances, I'm not going to be able to get the Lammas issue of Yellow Brick Road out on time. So if you're a subscriber, not to worry. You'll have it in hand mid-August if not sooner. Hugs! Dorothy... Continue

Au Revoir, Denessa...

Denessa Smith was my friend, and I loved her for a number of reasons - perhaps the most important of which was the fact that she was a real human being with human flaws and failings just like the rest of us. But instead of letting those flaws get her down, she accepted them for what they were: an integral part of who she was. Moreover, she came to undertand that no one else was perfect, either. And it didn't matter whether she understood why people did some of the crazy things they did or not. S… Continue

Wicked Win in Denver!!!

While a good number of you have already heard about this courtesy of M.R. Sellars [many thanks for posting the WillowTree Press press release on your blog], some of you haven't. So, I thought it best to hear it directly from me: Utterly Wicked and WillowTree Press won a COVR award in Denver last weekend for Best Wiccan/Paganism Book of 2008! How… Continue

MY Pie...

Last weekend was a wonderful one. Not only did I reconnect with old friends at the St. Louis Pagan Picnic, but had the pleasure of meeting new ones. [Anastasia and Mike, Johnny, Jacki, and Sherry...I'm ecstatic at having had the opportunity to spend some time with you. It's an honor to count you among my friends, and I hope that we'll be visiting much more often in the future. ;)] Normally, I'd give you the scoop on everything that happened over the weekend. But once again, it looks like M.R. S… Continue
