Blog #8: Almost had my cover blown

Two weeks ago, my older sis and I had gone over to IKEA to pick up a new desk for her. While we were there and walking along, she picked up the conversation saying that she had noticed that I had placed on my FB status as 'Happy Sahmain'. Naturally I felt that my sense of privacy had been invaded but I suppose it was my fault. My sis then asked what Sahmain was. Now it's not like what I wanted to reveal too much or say too much anyway. I was more uncomfortable than I was annoyed at her bringing… Continue

Blog #7: Trying Wicca is like trying on a new set of shoes

I just thought of this now but I may have come up across this idea at some point. I think is Wicca is like trying on a new set of shoes. If Wicca doesn't feel right to you, then it probably doesn't fit you and you need try something new. On the other hand, if you find that if you try out Wicca and you find that it does feel right for you but it's not fitting quite as comfortably as you would like it to, then make some adjustments. Blog #6: My first Tarot Cards

Well, just this past Monday, I was on my break at the mall between class hours. I stopped at the book store just to look around and see if anything interested me. Low and behold, I chose right there and then to buy my first deck of the Gilded Tarot. I don't know why I decided to, it just happened and I did. Maybe something about the magnificence of the cards drew me to them. I haven't yet removed the cards from their package. I want to make sure I gain the knowledge I need first before I make an… Continue

Blog #5: Among the Ruins

I feel the sand crunch beneath my feet as I trudge onward through the desert, my pacing have slowed through the hours of night. The lasting darkness of night had surrounded me and overwhelming me with its heaviness. Now the darkness begins to lift and the gray light of dawn slowly takes its place. Yet I still continue on, resorting to whatever strength my body was able to muster. My feet ached, my legs were stiff, and my throat as dry as the desert itself. My mind empty and drained of any though… Continue

Blog #4: Book of Shadows

While I'm still in the very early stages on the Path of Wicca, not long ago I decided that I wanted to keep a Book of Shadows-the personal journal of a Witch used to record such information like spells, tools, stages of spiritual development, etc. Not every Witch and Wiccan is required to keep one, but keeping a B.O.S. can be very useful. In the past, most Books have been traditionally written by hand and some probably still are today. But with the evolution of today's technology, it has become… Continue

Blog #3: Defining yourself

This will be relatively short: When it comes to defining yourself, it seems sort of complex or complicated. First of all, 'Wicca' is just one of several Neopagan nature-based religions. Secondly, Wicca is also categorized under the umbrella term of 'Neopaganism'. So therefore, Wiccans ARE Pagans, BUT not all Pagans are Wiccans. I think the question comes down to is: what we tend to define ourselves as more? A member of one of several Neopagan religions, esp. Wicca? Or do we tend to categorize ou… Continue

Blog #2: Excepting Wiccans

I'm not fully an expert on this subject but I'm going to run off my opinion anyway. I'll try not to ramble if I can. First of all, I just want to say that I'm from Toronto, Canada. For those of you that aren't aware, Toronto is a mosaic of different cultures, religions, etc. The area that I have lived in for most of my life thrives with multiculturalism. Don't get the wrong idea about this because I have nothing against it. I've grown up with people of different backgrounds. The other thing is… Continue

Blog #1: Coming to the Craft

This is officially my first blog. Every so often I might have something new that comes to mind that I want to share. This first one deals with how I encountered to the craft. 'Witchcraft' is not a new a new term to me. As far back as I can remember, I've been vaguely aware of its existence. Though when I was younger, I was only aware of bits and piece of ideas as to what it was about but nothing more. But back in the days of my preteen years and elementary school, I never once came upon anythin… Continue
