In this episode we talk a little about balance as a goal of the pagan, how I’m celebrating Spring and the upcoming festival season, and a little bit about solitary practice and how difficult, yet rewarding, that can be to maintain.
Spirits of the Earth Festival (http://spiritsfest.com) is gearing up! The fest takes place between July 7th and 12th about 45 minutes from London, Ontario. I picked… Continue

Wren (our gray cat) tangled with a skunk, and transferred the spray to her kittens. Thankfully, no one else stinks, but that means I had to bathe THREE cats in 1) vinegar and baking soda, 2) tomato paste, and 3) dish soap.
THREE CATS.
Okay, so two of them are little, but Wren? She's strong. And she hates me right now. Which is okay, really because I did the unthinkable, and actually put her into water, scrubbed her and rinsed her with three different concoctions THREE times, and then rubbed la… Continue

SHOW NOTES
In Episode 5, we explore the topic of responsible eclectic pagan practice. I wield the sledge hammer and throw honesty bombs about cultural misappropriation and the use of the word “use” in reference to the gods.
In our PAGANISM 101 segment, we talk a little bit about the tool of air, and my experience as both a student of tarot (where the tool of air is the blade) and as a student of feminist spirituality, Feri, and traditional Wicca.

What are you cooking up in that beautiful, pagan spirit of yours? What fancies will you follow through as the moon waxes? Where does this Seed Moon find you? Do your thoughts rest lightly on things to come? Or do they race and tumble over one another? Are you here, now? Or are you living in your past or future?
Most things are conceived in the dark. Seeds set down roots in the soil long before we ever see the tender shoot of green. What are you planting? What desire moves you to grow? What tiny… Continue

Thanks to Sparrow (of The Wigglian Way) for turning me on to this song. Secretly, I think she's trying to kill me, see? Because i listened and swooned and fell hard and listened again, and fell all over...
Here are the lyrics for those who are so inclined.
I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out
Ta… Continue

Lisa Gerard on iTunes. Her album "The Silver Tree". She sings to every deep and dark part of me, and I am all stillness, listening.
The past is close tonight. I cock an hear, like something lupine. Head tilted to the right, waiting for something. Some still small voice saying ...
yes, this. Yes, now.
Yes.
The softness of it, the thought as light as silk on skin and yet, heavy as life. As sex and death.
And 'yes' the word for all of these.
I remain in all ways in the moment, and yet in the… Continue
