Handfasting in Second Life
SL =the biggest and fastest growing digital world where people connect their real life careers and relationships
Energy. We can all pretty much agree that energy doesn't disappear just changes forms. Many of us on PaganSpace can feel the energies of others through the internet.
So then I am sure there are a good number of you who would agree that when you create a character wither it be as an actor or as a member of such a digital place as sl so much of your own energy has gone into that character.
Depending on who you talk to a Handfasting may bind the two partners together on a spiritual level for all eternity to be married (or lovers) in each incarnation. Others disagree saying it is only on a level for this life time.
I am one who believes it binds you together for each incarnation.
So, given the fact that I am lucky enough to have found a sweet and wonderful man, we decided to have a wedding in-world. Or at lest our characters in Second Life are getting married. I had the question, If you put so much energy into your digital persona would a Handfasting in the digital realm be on the same level as one in the real world?
Dominique and a friend of her's on Skype one night both agreed with me to a point.
When I asked the Highpriestess in SL of the Pagan group, she did not answer.
Not sure if she just does not view it that way, or if she's never thought of it that way before.
But I am laying it out here to be just a thought for the day.
