I just got back from ren faire and wow! So much fun! I got a new pentacle: pewter made to look like wood, surrounded by oak leaves and acorns. I lost my old one years ago. Bloody ex-girlfriends... I also got a new sword.
Our daughter had so much fun! She played with a gypsy band while she was waiting for her hair to get braided, and she liked it so much we got her a tambourine so that she could play in the drum circle with us. She played her tambourine and danced and everyone said she did an amazing job! For a 6 year old, she has amazing rhythm. I played my drum so hard my hands are swollen and bruised and stiff even now (after two days) but it was so worth it! My Darling wife got a bass drum which she seems to have enjoyed at the drum circle too.
Ah, the drum circle... it all comes back to that, doesn't it? I have thought it's what a coven ritual should be... people dancing, music, everyone laughing and having fun, not even an ounce of negative energies and everyone feeding off one another to a frenzy of life and light... I'm so glad I had a drum this year. It's worth every bruised joint and stiff muscle to have done that, and if I could, I'd go back and do it again before the faire closes down, but I don't have time. I guess I'll just have to wait until next year!
Blessed be and hail and farewell!
