Creating a Butterfly Garden
I love having a butterfly garden!......it's easy and fun!
Plant flowers that attract butterflies...some examples are sunflowers, snapdragons, butterfly milkweed, delphinium belladonna, chrysanthimums, marigolds and sweet peas are just a few.
Place a smooth flat rock in a sunny area.....butterflies are attracted to this because it is a place for them to fan out their wings and "lay in the sun"
Give them a drink of water....make a very wet sand and place it in a saucer.
Butterlies love colors of red, orange and purple!
Get some caterpillar food to feed the babies.
Don't use pesticides.
Try to create your butterfly garden in a spot that is quiet and doesn't get a lot of traffic and noise.....for example a quiet spot in a corner rather than by your BBQ grill.
You may even be lucky enough to attract some humming birds too :)
