Dragon’s Blood is the name given to a resin collected from a number of different trees. The most common source of Dragon’s Blood is the rattan palm in Indonesia; this hardened red resin encases the unripe fruit. However it is also collected from Daemonorops draco, D. propenquos, Creiton, Dracena Daemonorops, Calamus rotung and pterocarpus though most of the time there is no specific way of knowing which plant specifically the resin comes from as all types are labeled as “Dragon’s Blood”. In fact when it was first discovered Dragon’s blood was the name of any red resin. The second most common source of Dragon’s Blood resin is the Dracaena Draco, a tree native to the Canary Islands and Morocco.
In Ancient times this resin was highly prized due to its unusual appearance and used not only in incense as it still is today but also as varnish, medicine and dye.
This interesting resin has masculine projective energy and is associated with Fire. Today it has many magical uses. It is said that it is burned to entice errant lovers to return. It can also be placed under a mattress or a pillow to cure impotency.
Dragon’s Blood can be added to other incenses to increase their potency and power. As a dried resin it is a powerful protection, it can be carried to provide protection for your person, sprinkled around the house or smoldered as incense to drive away negativity. You can also walk around your property either sprinkling the powdered resin or burn incense as you do while calling to the dragon totem to protect your home; it is very effective for this purpose.
Dragon’s blood is also said to quiet a noisy household. This is done by powdering the resin and then mixing it with sugar and salt then placed in a bottle, cover it securely and place it in a spot where it won’t be disturbed.

Dragon's Blood can also be used to charge healing/Reiki stones with counter-clockwise vortex energy. It will create a masculine energy flow in a room where it is burnt as incense and is particularly usefull for drawing chaotic energy out of stones that are "tired" or in need of cleansing.
