All Beliefs are Welcome Here!

On the list of Azure's people, Gaspard Ulliel was chosen.  Many people would not recognize him as a mere famous actor in America.  But, he is well-known in France.  Most of you would know him as playing the young adult Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising.  This blog is a biography of him to let you know about him.  I feel he deserves great recognition as an actor, may possibly be a director, and he should be known to those who read this blog.
Gaspard Ulliel was born November 25th in Boulogne-Billancourt in which it is a suburb of Paris, France and is known as an actor and model.  He was born to Christine, a runaway show producer and to Serge Ulliel, a stylist.  The scar on his left cheek was from being attacked by a doberman by riding the dog when he was six years of age.  This scar resembles a dimple.
Ulliel attended the University of Saint-Denis studying cinema.  He began acting while still in school and appeared in a film for French television, and appeared in television shows during the late 1990s and early 2000s, and he began to be known as a film actor in France.  Hannibal Rising was his first English-language film.  Ulliel was nominated for a Cesar Award for the category "Most Promising Actor" in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, he won that award for his role in A Very Long Engagement which co-starred Audrey Tautou.  In 2014, Ulliel portrayed French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent in the biopic film Saint Laurent, which earned him a Lumeries Award for "best actor" and a Cesar Award for "best actor nomination."  In 2016, he has three movies coming up as one being the lead role in Xavier Dolan's It's Only the End of the World with opposite Marion Cotillard and Vincent Cassel. Ulliel will also star in Guillaume Nicloux's Les Confins du Monde with opposite Gerard Depardieu, and on Stephanie Di Guisto's The Dancer, an uncovnentional biopic of an American dancer Lois Fuller.
Along with Kate Moss, Gaspard Ulliel is the face of Longchamp, a French leather and luxury goods company.  He also was chosen as the face of Chanel for its new men's fragrance Bleu de Chanel.  In 2007, he appeared on Vogue with supermodel Doutzen Kroes.

Ulliel dated French actress Cecile Cassel from 2005 to 2007, had a brief relationship with Charlotte Casiraghi in 2007, and dated Jordane Crantelle from 2008 to 2013.  Since 2013, Ulliel has been in a relationship with French model/singer Gaelle Pietri, On November 9th, 2015, it was announced the couple are expecting their first child together. (Gaspard Ulliel - Wikipedia).

Gaspard Ulliel's dream has always been to direct a movie, and after completing his studies at the Lycee (French High School).  However, fate had other plans.  Ulliel was 12 years old when he appeared in the TV film Une Femme En Blanc (1997).  During the following years, Ulliel continued working in television and was cast in short films, such as Atlas (1994), Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001), and Summer Things (2002). Ulliel also took summer stages at Les Cours Florent and was asked by director Andre Techine to star in Strayed (2003) as Emmanuelle Beart's lover.  A Very Long Engagement was the movie that took Ulliel to stardom.  Ulliel is one of the rare French actors to speak fluent English.  In 2007, he was voted #12 as the sexiest man in France's magazine Elle

He enjoys listening to Reggae, Rap, Soul, Jazz, Rock, Kayne West, Herbie Hancock, The Temptations, Nick Drake, The Rolling Stones, and Prince.  His favorite books are Sexus by Henry Miller and The Lines of My Hand by Robert Frank.  (Gaspard Ulliel - IMDB).

I wish I can come up with my own biography of him.  I find him a very fascinating actor.  He does have a charming look about him, but my interest of this actor took place when I watch one of my favorite movies Hannibal Rising.  I felt he did wonderful playing the young Hannibal Lecter, and I feel he can portray any character he pleases.  Even though he is French, and has starred in most French films, maybe I can look at them someday and read the subtitles.  I do want to learn to speak French, as well as Italian.  Maybe when I learn French, I may not have to read the subtitles in watching his movies.
