I fear for our children

Why is it any wonder that we are becoming a society that hates our neighbor? I was told by a friend of mine today that a mutual friend was asked a question that held importance... at least to her.. 2 months went by before it was brought up again and she was graciously greeted with "Well there's other people with more important problems than yours!" With attitudes like this then we are just coming to expect poor behaviors from our neighbors, friends and co-workers. I do not know about the rest of the people here, and I can only speak for me. But personally I do not want to show my daughters a world that is full of hate, and where people only help one another for selfish gain.

My girlfriend has a number of friends just a few years younger than we are who are also related to her in some distant fashion. I always seem to be bending over backwards to accommodate them in our home and elsewhere and treat them with politeness and respect. They never return it. Instead they feel it is their job to 'educate' me. It is sickening. More and more people are out for themselves and their agendas and if some one disagrees even a little then the become the enemy. It is disgusting.
