Oh good thing I have a sense of humour......

yesterday I was at the library branch closest to my home...lets call this the "non ghetto" branch......and it IS still summertime...

and after my hour session Mr "Cute blonde man with the Andy Gibb smile",asked if he could have a word with me....

So turns out the library "has a dress code".He muttered something about "no shoes no shirt no service".......

I was dressed.....streetlegal dressed......

I have worn bare midriffs since May....lemme tellya it's HOT this summer......

and I have never IN MY LIFE been asked to cover up at a library...I have never IN MY LIFE been told my attire was inappropriate.......

I work hard to keep in shape......I would not show my tummy if I had rolls of fat ooozing out......

I woder if someone did not like my big pentagram belly ring......hmmmmm....and no the garterbelts were not mentioned.....

WARNING:Politically Incorrect statements ahead:::::::

It is okay for ME to be offended....by things like cracking gum,and cel phone talking, and multiple kids (noisy ones) together at the computer next to me...it is okay that I am offended by stinky people, and it is okay that I am offended by hijabs and niqabs and burqas that only show creepy slits where the eyes should be.

What about the ghetto male uniform of the bloomers (boxer shorts) sticking out of pants which, lately ARE belted....belted UNDERNEATH THE BUTTOCKS......

That's okay. It's a cultural thing and we don't mess with (especially!) cultures in America   *smirk*

I do not say a word.(Actually I gave up complaining about the noise.Libraries are no longer bastions of silence,of learning, like they USED TO BE,like they still are in Los Angeles).

I comport myself like a lady "dispite my fashion sense"....

I do not encourage folks to chat me up or disrupt anything. And I've never encurred a fine.......and I keep my ass covered *smirk*.

When I get done my hour here I WILL get a printout of the so called "dress code"....

It IS funny that I scored a test shoot on the beach afterwards yesterday......

Man I will be SO GLAD when Mercury goes direct and I can buy a new computer.......

Many years ago I went to a local public library and asked to be shown the "religious section". The gal started showing me bibles....I didn't mention what I was after. She told me that they had some "Satanic baloney" on the other rack below. It was a tiny collection of books about Witchcraft, Wicca, Shamanism, and their History. I didn't go back to that branch after that encounter.

Ugh.  The majority of dress codes are so incredibly sexist.  I'm sorry you had to deal with that.
